Coral Beach Hotel & Resort Cyprus Resort hotel. Number of floors in the main building

My friend and I stayed at the Ascos Coral Beach 4* hotel from June 25 to July 3. We were accommodated in a small building overlooking the sea, which we were initially very happy about. 2 days before departure, while we were at dinner, someone broke into the room, cut up my suitcase and stole jewelry and money. We could not even imagine such a situation, otherwise, of course, we would have taken the safe. Having extensive travel experience, we have never encountered such situations. The reception staff called the police, they arrived quickly enough, filled out the paperwork, however, they did not take any fingerprints, although they constantly repeated that we should not touch anything. The thieves couldn’t open my friend’s suitcase – a completely plastic box (without a zipper); she checked that the suitcase was closed and the money was in place. The police asked her for documents, she took her passport out of her suitcase and left the suitcase open; after the police left, there was no more money in her open suitcase. While one of them was filling out the documents, the other two walked around the room and probably grabbed the remaining money.

The next day we contacted the hotel manager, Mr. Takis. Instead of the expected apology, we heard accusations that we allegedly staged everything ourselves (cut up a suitcase for 30 thousand rubles!!! - which in itself is absurd), with the words: “We should have taken the safe! It's not my problem!" - He turned around and left. And only after another conversation with the reception staff, the hotel gave us 1 lunch (we had half board), canceled the bill for WiFi and 2 glasses of wine, and agreed on a late check-out (the generosity is off the charts...). Naturally, all the pleasant emotions from the holiday disappeared at the moment of the theft itself, theft by police officers, plus the outright rudeness of management

The result is this:

As we learned later, thefts in this building have been happening regularly for 10 years (it’s a pity we didn’t read the reviews on TripAdvisor earlier...). In the same week, 2 more Russian girls were robbed in the same way.

Only Russian tourists are accommodated in this building (apparently they don’t dare to rob foreigners), this is the attitude towards Russians in this hotel

In a conflict situation, girls who travel without men are treated with a sharply aggressive attitude (I’m sure if my husband had been with me on this trip, the attitude would have been different). I have never experienced greater rudeness and humiliation in my life, and this despite the fact that we are clients who paid for a vacation in this hotel

Thefts are committed by hotel employees or with the complicity of employees, since only those who do not use the paid safe suffer (the reception has this information). All thefts occur during dinner and 1-2 days before departure, so that tourists do not have the opportunity to do anything (departure dates are also known to the reception). I do not rule out the possibility that the manager, Mr. Takis, has his own percentage of the thefts, otherwise he would have taken measures to stop theft in the hotel, but he is absolutely satisfied with everything

All employees are aware of what is happening at the hotel, but they do not want to rat anyone out

The reception staff gave me thread and a needle and film so that I could sew and wrap my suitcase and return home with it (all at the customers’ service...)

The tour operator Biblioglobus didn’t help us at all either, only sympathized with us... So we had to rely only on ourselves

The whole family went on vacation (my wife and I and our 6-year-old child). We've been to Cyprus a couple of times already, but this is our first time in Paphos. The hotel was chosen based on reviews on the Internet. The apartments were booked in advance, back in Moscow. Our choice was a spacious room overlooking the seashore. Regarding the voucher, we had it “ all inclusive" We landed in Larnaca, took a taxi for 100 euros and was at the hotel in literally an hour and a half. They checked us in at the same moment, which made us very happy, because... you understand, with a small child it would be problematic to wait. The room we were given was exactly the one we had booked, so to say 5 stars was felt in everything.
The territory of Coral Beach is really huge and with an incredible amount of green space. An insane number of different restaurants, there is an excellent children's playground with a swimming pool and two water slides, which our daughter really liked. The sea is simply excellent, the water was warm throughout our vacation. We went to the beach three, and sometimes four times a day. The beach, owned by the hotel, has small pebbles, making the sea simply crystal clear. Sun loungers are provided to everyone free of charge. We went to the municipal shore a couple of times, because... my daughter was a little naughty and wanted sandy beach. Also quite perfect place for sunbathing, the entrance to the sea is gentle, the sand is fine and clean, in general, it’s perfect for those who relax with small children. True, here they already paid an extra 5 euros for 2 sun loungers.

The hotel is simply great! The room has everything you need for unforgettable holiday. The food selection in the restaurant is wonderful. Every day we ate our fill of sweet pomegranate and guava. Ice cream was usually served at the bar starting at 10am. For lunch and dinner, full self-service, i.e. You serve yourself as much food as you want. It’s not that we vacationed in Turkey last year, that a certain amount was given out in portions to one person, it’s already unpleasant to remember.
There is an excellent zoo next to the hotel, my boyfriend and I took a taxi back and forth, it cost us 18 euros, the journey took no more than 10 minutes. We visited an aviary with parrots, they are allowed to be fed by hand, it’s a very cool feeling, the birds are really tame, so if you’re there, be sure to stop by.
We were lucky with the weather; the entire holiday passed without a single cloudy day. The sea was clean and warm. As a result, we were extremely pleased with our vacation in Coral, so we will definitely return here.
