ALFA FUTURE PEOPLE is a festival of electronic music and technology, which will be held for the 6th time with the support of Alfa-Bank.

The largest festival of electronic music and modern technologies comes to Russia in the summer. This will happen for the fifth time in 2018. The organizer in 2014 was Alfa-Bank, which was the first to rely on the driving force of the 21st century - technologically advanced and mobile millennials. In the first year, the festival space was built up mainly with the help of Alfa-Bank resources, but the investments were recouped, and the festival gradually turned into an independent structure.

Every year the team tries to improve the content. So, in 2018, for the first time, a summer cinema, an amusement park and a full-fledged art zone will appear here, curated by the popular street artist and calligrapher Pokras Lampas.

Infrastructure

What is AFP today? Two thousand truckloads of crushed stone to make the open field “inhabitable.” Four thousand tents to accommodate those who plan to visit all three festival days. The main stage is the decoration of the festival. Alfa Future People has the largest one in Eastern Europe: the height of the structure is comparable to a nine-story building. Until 2017, Alfa Future People was held in July, but last summer made adjustments to the calendar - festival participants were almost washed away from the site by prolonged heavy rains.

For the first time, AFP guests were so unlucky with the weather - it was not only wet, but also cold (the average daily temperature remained at 12-14 degrees).

Raincoats, raincoats, rubber boots - everything was used, and they say it was even fun. Fighting the vagaries of the weather cost the organizers a lot of effort and nerves, and this year they did not want to take risks - the dates of the festival were shifted by a month so that the atmosphere would definitely be hot.

There are two categories of tickets available at AFP. A standard ticket (in 2014, the organizers started at 2,000 rubles; in the anniversary 2018, prices start at 6,500 rubles) – this is admission to the festival, an unlimited number of entries and exits from the territory, and access to all areas except VIP. To enter the territory you will need to register vehicle(category A/B), which is paid separately. A standard ticket implies that you will spend the night outside the festival site (for example, in an apartment in the village of Bolshoye Kozino, which is actively rented out for the duration of AFP, or in a hotel in Nizhny Novgorod) or in a car. The VIP ticket category offers a similar set of services, but with an upgrade in the form of pleasant bonuses (separate entrance to the festival, a separate dance area with an improved view of the stage, a separate lounge tent with a special menu).

For those who want to spend not only days but also nights at the festival, it is better to take a ticket that includes camping. There are three campsites – “Alpha”, “Beta” and “Gamma”. Camping gives you the right to set up a tent with a capacity of no more than 4 people, where you can spend the night. Camping "Alpha" is located in close proximity to the festival, “Beta” ─ 100 meters from the entrance to the festival, “Gamma” ─ 300 meters. Caravan camping means that you don’t have to bring your own tent - the campsite will already have a tent equipped with an air mattress, pillows and blankets. Music

At first, Alfa Future People was perceived as a narrow-profile electronic music festival, and this was explained by the lineup ─ event poster, which consisted of EDM musicians (from the English EDM - Electronic Dance Music, i.e. electronic dance music). On the other hand, if we remember that Zemfira took part in the first AFP, everything becomes not so simple.

Over the years, AFP has expanded the boundaries of the genre, and in 2017, in addition to the two main stages, the festival featured live and techno scenes, the composition of which surprised even connoisseurs of underground music.

Over the 4 years of Alfa Future People’s existence, more than 400 artists performed at the festival, most of whom are included in the international TOP-100 Dj Mag rating (an authoritative music publication).

For example, for the first time in a long time, the American musician Moodyman performed in Russia. He was accompanied by GusGus, Kito Jempere, Boris Brejcha and other artists.

The first round date obliges: in 2018, the organizers promise to exceed all expectations. AFP visitors will be treated to performances by more than 100 DJs, and the anniversary festival will be headlined by Tiesto, Steve Aoki, Alesso and Afrojack - do they need to be introduced? Alfa Future People continues to explore the techno genre. For the second year, the festival will feature a special Miller Future Music stage, where more than 30 artists will perform, divided into two schools: French and German. The festival of electronic music and technology began its work on Friday.

At 15:00, numerous and completely diverse festival areas were opened to guests throughout the entire territory. Some of them were located in tents, and some were stylized.

The “Beeline” zone stood out from afar with its bright yellow and black coloring; an unusual car was located near the “BlaBlaCar”.

The “Technology Zone” also looked noticeable.

This is technology meeting people, and people meeting technology. This year's meeting was truly pleasant. In the “space” tents, guests could appreciate and try out all the modern gadgets.

Mubert dancer totem was presented here - adaptive music created by an algorithm in real time, you put on headphones and hear the music that is generated online.

There was also Any Walker, a robot that could move freely in any environment and was controlled using a smartphone.

The guests tested the full power of the NVR helmet; when wearing it, the person was immersed in virtual reality: flying through the sky, riding on a swing.

There was an unusual project called “Ozhivaika” - a 3D coloring book, a game that allows you to paint pictures using a tablet: no felt-tip pens are needed, the coloring process takes place on the screen in real time.

The Smart Home stood out from other objects. All modern technologies were presented in it. Plumbing and Appliances which are controlled remotely. A touch monitor is built into the wall, with the help of which the blinds open and close and the air conditioner turns on. All these innovations were developed by the company iRidium mobile from Nizhny Tagil, with which well-known mobile systems plan to cooperate.

The ART zone was the most popular: huge queues stood to “immerse” in a painting by Marc Chagall. Those who wish stood on a platform in the form of a cloud, put on headphones and glasses. It's not just electronic music. This year everyone could express themselves and take part in music competitions. MTV competition participants competed on the Casa Musica stage. They were evaluated by a professional jury: Andrey “San” (SunSay group), member of the Tesla group. Another musical competition took place on the Umaker stage. There, everyone could compete in the art of improvisation. Aspiring musicians also performed here.

The main stage opened at 20:00. The first to perform was the Nizhny Novgorod group Going Deeper. And the headliners of this day were Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike. True, only one participant took the stage, the second got sick and could not fly.

The main “trick” was the mesmerizing “Intro” with live accompaniment of a violinist and drummer. All this was accompanied by a pyrotechnic show. The organizers liked this idea so much that they decided to repeat the prologue on the second day.

On the second day of Alfa Future People 2016, all areas of the festival continued to operate. Some were aimed at guest activity.

Beeline organized an unusual competition. You had to take your photos on the premises and bring them to the company tent. On them, all the images with the face of the competition participant were highlighted online and posted on social networks in a “Beeline” frame.

Selfie lovers could also climb to a height of 15 meters to take a mind-blowing selfie.

Seminars were held in the “Rave-yoga” tent to the rhythms of deep house.

But the focus was still on the main stage.

W&W, Aleksander Popov, Johnny Kelvin played their sets, who surprised all the guests and unexpectedly sang “Call me, call me.” The young and very popular Lost Frequencies also performed.

Swanky Tunes flew straight from the Belgian festival “Tomorrowland”.

And after them, the second part of the show began with content about love. This year the organizers decided to make an “ideological” festival. Alfa Future People 2016 theme is love. Before the DJ’s performance, there was a thematic screensaver, the leitmotif of the entire festival: “We are the people of the future. We are here to reveal the truth. The truth is simple. This is Love".

Everyone was waiting with love and impatience for the Dutch DJ Armin van Buuren. By 00:00 everyone began to get closer to the stage.

The organizers organized a real celebration for all fans. The festival sold tickets for Armin van Buuren's spring concert. The lucky ones could get the famous DJ's autograph on the ticket itself.

The headliner himself appreciated the idea of ​​the festival. Armin van Buuren told reporters that for him technology is an integral part of life, when everything is on your mobile phone. He likes the ability of mobile technology to tune in to the radio shows he hosts.

Armin van Buuren's performance lasted an hour and a half.

He was replaced by another famous DJ - Martin Garrix. After the set, guests were again treated to an enchanting show with elements of pyrotechnics.

Then Pendulum performed powerfully, truly “igniting” and pumping up the audience. The last one to appear on the main stage in the early morning was DJ Bobina.
