A cascade of reservoirs of glacial origin consists of the Big and, as you might guess, the Small Bear Lakes. From May to September, fishermen and swimmers never tire of storming these places in the hope of a good swim and catching a carp or two. I must say, they succeed.

You can swim on the lake, in principle, everywhere, the only thing is that the sandy bottom is often covered with duckweed. There is only one well-maintained beach here, and even that one is located on the territory of a recreation center, which is not so easy to get to.

There are many legends about Bear Lakes, each more mysterious than the other. But the most popular, perhaps, is about a prehistoric lizard - a cousin of the Scottish Nessie - who dozes at the bottom, spying on the shrieking bathers.

There is also a local attraction here - an alien dish with a diameter of 64 m, which belongs to the space communications center of the same name as the lakes. You can admire this giant from the Tatneft gas station, which is on the way to Moscow. It is best to time your excursion in the evening: in the sunset rays, looking at the antenna, you can imagine yourself as a resident of Mars.
