Places to visit in Seoul Open left menu seoul

It is not boring in Seoul, which is not surprising, because this is a huge Asian metropolis, where there is a lot of everything that is impossible to even imagine, the saying "it is better to see once than hear a hundred times" is just about Seoul.

I present to you my humble review.

Once in Seoul, the first thing I did was go down the subway and buy a transit card" T money card", which you can pay on the subway, and in a taxi, and on a bus. The cost is $ 3. In any metro station there is an information department where you go and demand this card, I have trouble with English, but without complexes. The metro worker helped me get the card out of the terminal and top it up. For one week of driving around Seoul by subway, bus and taxi, I spent only $ 45 (excluding the trip from the airport to the city and back). The most convenient way to get around the city is by metro. The bus should be used only when you need to go out of town. And I took a taxi only when I bought too many things and which I clearly would not have conveyed.

1. Gyeongbokgung Palace

How to get there: Orange Line Station 327 (Gyeongbokgung) Exit 5 or Purple Line 5 Station 533 (Gwanghwamun) Exit 2 (there is a huge bookstore next to the subway station).

Entrance ticket price:$3

Working mode: from 09.00 to 18.00

The territory of the palace is huge, it will take several hours to see all the buildings, capture yourself against the backdrop of all the palaces, admire the trees, lakes and visit historical Museum. There are few people on weekdays, there is an idyll and silence all around, you can sit on a bench and dream, but on weekends this will not work. There is a cafe inside the museum, but it's expensive, so it's better to take food with you.

2. N-Seoul tower

How to get there: Orange Line, Station 331 (Chungmuro), Exit 2. This is a station near Myeongdong Market. Get out of the metro and go straight to the mountain, about 15 minutes. And there you will find the funicular.

Entrance ticket price:$8 + $5 funicular.

Working mode: from 10.00 to 23.00

A huge number of people go here, you will have to stand in lines for both the funicular and the elevator in the tower. There are souvenir shops, Teddy bears, grocery. The view from the tower is breathtaking, the whole city is at a glance. It can be seen that the city stands in the middle of the mountains.

3. Everland amusement park

How to get there: Green line 2, st. 222 (Gangnam), then take the bus number 5002 or Green Line 2, st. 216 (Jamsil) and then by bus number 5700. I have new map subway, where a new branch is stretched to Everland, I don’t know, maybe the subway is already going there now.

Entrance ticket price:$36 is a single ticket for all attractions.

Working mode: from 10.00 to 21.00

A huge park with wooden roller coasters, a zoo and other amusement rides. There were long queues for all the attractions, even on weekdays, for the roller coaster, I stood for two hours, but it was worth it. Food is sold at every step, a lot of cafes, a souvenir shop. Here you will spend the whole day unnoticed.

4. Amusement park "Lotte World"

How to get there: Green line 2, st. 216 (Jamsil), gates 3 and 4

Entrance ticket price:$40 for all attractions

Working mode: from 09.30 to 22.00

There is always a wonderful holiday atmosphere here. There are attractions both inside the giant indoor building and outside, in the middle beautiful lake, overlooking the giant skyscraper Lotte. There are long lines everywhere. Lots of cafes and souvenir shops. There is a skating rink downstairs, but it is separate from the park, the cost is $ 9, the skates will be given to you.

5. Oceanarium "Coex Aquarium"

How to get there: Green line 2, st. 219 (Samseong), exit 6, or take the subway.

Entrance ticket price:$20

Working mode: from 10.00 to 20.00.

Sufficiently large oceanarium, but without fanaticism, of the big fish there are only stingrays and "little sharks". Cozy, relaxing atmosphere. The oceanarium is located inside the giant Coex shopping center - everything is here and you can easily get lost.

6. Temple "Bongeunsa".

How to get there: from Coex go north.

Is free.

People come here to pray. People sit in temples and sing about something. Here is the concentration of peace and quiet in the middle of a noisy and restless metropolis. Soothing place.

7. National Museum Korea.

How to get there: Blue line 4, art. 430 (Ichon), exits 2 and 3.

Entrance ticket price: on the permanent exhibition free of charge (right entrance), paid for special exhibitions (left entrance)

Working mode: from 09.00 to 18.00

A huge historical museum with ancient tools, skeletons, armor, boats, guns, scrolls, frescoes, stones, paintings, etc. It seems that all the historical relics of Korea are collected here. There is a cafe and storage boxes. In general, all museums in Seoul have boxes for storing things, which is very convenient.

8. National Science Museum "Gwacheon"

How to get there: blue line 4, art. 437 (Seoul Grand Park), exit. 5.

Entrance ticket price:$4, planetarium - $2. The cash desk is outside, on the right, in the booth.

Working mode: from 09.30 to 05.30, closed on Mondays.

Excellent museum of natural sciences. Everything is here - from ammonites and dinosaurs to shuttles and rovers - everything is clear, everything is clear. You can even do some experiment yourself. It is very clearly and interestingly shown how the monkey became a man. Outside there is a planetarium, a botanical insect garden, and a stuffed dinosaur garden. The museum is surrounded by picturesque mountains.

Across the road from the museum is a huge park "Seoul Grand Park", where there are attractions, a zoo. I didn't go there.

9. national park Bukhansan

How to get there: I didn’t write down how I got to the park myself, but I found this on the Internet: Blue line 4, st. 417 (Gireum) and further by buses 143 or 110A to the final one.

Is free.

The park is located in the north of Seoul. These mountains are the best for lovers of hiking in nature, in the fresh air. There are routes along the mountains, some of which lead to ancient temples, and there are routes that lead to a certain point on the mountain, from where it opens beautiful panorama Seoul. Good shoes and food are needed here. You will climb the stones for many hours. The main thing is to find the right route.

10 Cheonggyecheon Creek

It is located in the very center of the city, starting from the Gyeongbokgung Palace Square. Highly beautiful place. They say it is a favorite place of the townspeople.

11. Insadong market.

How to get there: Yellow line 3, Art. 328 (Anguk) or dark blue line 1, art. 131 (Jonggak)

Insadong is a street with souvenir shops. Here you can find any kind of souvenirs - from sticks to expensive national clothes made of natural silk.

12. Myeongdong Market

How to get there: blue line 4, art. 424 (Myeong-dong).

Myeongdong is a few blocks of mega-shopping: mass-market clothes, famous Korean cosmetics, wonderful shopping center "Lotte Young Plaza", duty free and a monument to A.S. Pushkin! There are always a lot of people here (except in the morning hours). Shops are open from 11.00 to 21.00.

13. In addition, I visited three museums of modern art: National Museum of Modern Art ( side of Gyeongbokgung Palace), dongdaemun design plaza(near Dongdaemun Market) and seoul art museum(near City Hall).

I never understood modern art, but after visiting these three museums, I realized that there is nothing wrong with it. Everything is very fantasy, unusual, beautiful - this is real art. You can love contemporary art.

I hope my review will be useful to you :)

Today we will go on a trip to Seoul and its environs. This is not the most popular route for traveling with children, and in vain. At least that's what our insider and author of this text, Sveta Son, thinks. Sveta is a mother of many children, a popular blogger and the owner of an online Korean clothing store. She has been living in Korea for a long time and is in love with this country as much as she is with her husband, thanks to whom she ended up here. Her blog @svetsong with stories about their family life, traditions, travels around the country and weddings (yes, Sveta had several of them with the same husband) is a direct confirmation of this.

Everland

Everyone must have heard that Korea has its own Disneyland and this is it. everland- perfect place both for children and adults, and it is good to visit at almost any time of the year. There is always a magical and fabulous atmosphere. This place has only one drawback - you may encounter long queues for popular attractions. Although who am I kidding, and not popular ones either. So try to get here on a weekday and early in the morning, then there will be significantly fewer people. In addition to a huge number of all kinds of entertainment, shows, cafes and restaurants and other delights, there are also small bonuses, for example, in the form of baby carriages for rent. In general, in Korea, you can almost everywhere rent strollers, even in shopping malls. You can get to Everland on special buses that go from almost all the main stations in Seoul, about an hour's drive and you are there.

Ticket price:

Child - 16,000-34,000 won

Adult - 20,000-44,000 won

Lotte World!

Another amusement park that differs from Everland in that it is partially located indoors. Well, it is, of course, much smaller in size, although it is also very interesting, especially if you got into it for the first time. In addition, Lotte World is located in Seoul itself, so you won’t have to travel far with your children. Another plus is the ice rink. Of course, people don’t come to Korea to skate, but still. The queues here are also rather big, so also plan for weekdays. In Korea, in general, there are always queues in popular places, but, thank God, everything is very organized and calm, you will not see any pushing and swearing for a place.

Ticket price:

Child - 13,000-38,000 won

Adult - 17,000-48,000 won

KidZania!

it whole city for children, where there is everything! Starting from the gas station and ending with the airport. If you were in a similar place in Moscow, then just multiply all your feelings by 2 and get the Korean version. Children here can try themselves in more than 60 professions: a doctor, a dentist, a stewardess in Korean Air (and the plane is real), as well as a policeman, ice cream man, lawyer, taxman, actor, furniture maker, worker in the production of various products, and so on. more and more! Eva tried herself in 6 professions - a donut baker, a model, a dancer, a manager in a supermarket, a master in a beauty salon and, finally, a firefighter! And they went to extinguish the fire on a real fire engine. At the end of the work, children are paid money that can be immediately spent in the Lotte Deparament Store. Prices, as in life, are not at all childish, so we only had enough for plasticine. Eva put the rest of the money in the bank and she was given a plastic card with which she can withdraw money at a regular ATM (in any branch of her bank).

In just one day, well, there’s no way around it, waiting in line for at least 20-40 minutes, but it’s worth it. I must say that a trip to Kidzania is a great test for parents, but for children ... HAPPINESS! There are two types of visits from 10 am to 3 pm and from 3:30 pm to 8:30 am and for the whole day. We came to the second session and there were plenty of people. I think it's much less in the morning on weekdays.

Ticket price: approximately $30 per child and $12 per adult.

Deokpyeong Dinosaur Arboretum!

it the best place in the world for dinosaur fans. Moms of boys will understand, and many girls too. The park occupies a huge territory, which is completely dotted with life-size dinosaurs. There are a lot of areas for picnics and recreation, I think it’s just wonderful there in summer or spring.

There are also two closed pavilions, where dinosaurs move and make frightening sounds, it all looks more than realistic. So at first the children were afraid to even enter one of the pavilions, and then they ran out screaming. Then, however, they still went in and even in the end they didn’t want to leave, they had to do as many as 4 laps. In addition to dinosaurs, there are various gigantic insects and other mammals and predators - the inhabitants of the Mesozoic era.

The second pavilion is more fun - with real palm trees and tangerine trees and dinosaurs screaming and hatching eggs. The park is filled with various figures and interesting things and, of course, everything here is huge, moving and talking. One dinosaur even turned in the same direction as me. He looked straight at me with his pupil and repeated everything after me.

It's a long way to go here: from Seoul about 2 hours, but if you get together, you won't regret it.

If not, then there is another more modest dinosaur park closer to Seoul, located in Kintex.

Ticket price:

Child - 8,000 won

Adult - 11,000 won

bubble science!

Here, children have fun in every possible way, learning what bubbles are capable of. It was very interesting even for me and my husband. The kids are directly involved in all the shows, which last about an hour. Bubble Science is located near Grand Children Park. So if you have time and you will be nearby, it is worth stopping by.

Show every hour, last entry at 16-00.

Ticket price:10,000 won

Aquarium!

In fact, this is not an aquarium at all, but a real oceanarium. There are several of them in Seoul: in Coexe, in 63 Building and in the new Lotte World Tower. We liked Lotte the most, there were such cute beluga whales that swam up to the children and blew bubbles ... And the divers also staged a whole show under water, which impressed us very much. The rest of the aquariums are boring. And, if you can still go to Coexe, then it’s better not to waste time or money on 63 Building.

Ticket price:

Child - 25,000 won

Adult - 29,000 won

water parks

In addition to the many outdoor, summer water parks, Seoul also has those that can be visited at any time of the year. Usually there are several slides for adults and children and a large pool with an artificial current. Every half an hour people are expelled from the pool and it is cleaned. Therefore, catching something is much less likely than in a regular pool. You can spend the whole day in the water park, and then go to the Korean sauna or relax in the jacuzzi. They are also included in the water park complex. We were in SI LA LA, we recommend.

Ticket price:

Child - 17,000-22,000 won

Adult - 22,000-27,000 won

Seoul Grand Zoo!

Wonderful zoo! And what are the alleys! Pink flamingos, huge hippos and rhinos, elephants, lions and giraffes - the zoo is over 100 years old and almost all animals are collected there. From the main entrance, where the ticket is bought, the train will take you away, and you will return back by cable lift. It’s a bit far to walk from the ticket office, so I recommend buying a ticket with a train ride and an elevator. The zoo is very large, so it's better to take a sunbed with you so that you can sit down or lie down to rest along the way, as most Koreans do. You can also have a small picnic there. Of course there is also a cafe, but mostly it's fast food.

Ticket price:

Child - 1000-4000 won

Adult - 3,000-9,500 won

Seoulland!

The first amusement park in Seoul is located in the same place as the zoo. This is one complex and there is only one entrance. After visiting the zoo, if you have the strength, you can go for a ride and walk through the beautiful gardens, ponds and feed the pets. Attractions there, of course, are a bit old compared to Everland or Lotte World, but also nothing.

Grand Children's Park!

This is another of the many children's parks with a small zoo, rides, playgrounds, fountains, a botanical garden and picnic areas.

What is remarkable, the entrance here is absolutely free! There are also excellent children's shows.

I wish you a wonderful holiday with children in Korea, because this country was created just for them!

If you only have three days for sightseeing in Seoul, then this time will be enough for a more or less intimate acquaintance with the city. On one's own

arrange independent hike sightseeing in Seoul is possible, but if you have a map of the city, since in this huge metropolis the risk of getting lost is very high. Seoul is a great place to spend a vacation with the kids, as this city is home to one of the largest theme parks. The youngest visitors are always welcome here, and the park is designed in such a way that vacationers with children can feel as comfortable as possible.

What can a tourist do inexpensively?

When visiting Seoul, it is worth remembering that this is not at all cheap city, but some of the joys of life here you can afford completely is free.

Seoul has a service of guides that provide their services for free, and for tourists this is a great opportunity to learn about the city from a professional guide.

The fair sex can be armed with all sorts of stock, during which you can get samples of famous South Korean cosmetics for free.

Hypermarkets and some cafes in Seoul often host tastings dishes and pastries, so while walking around the city you should pay attention to various little things, and then the trip will become not only pleasant, but also in some sense profitable.

Lotte World Amusement Park is the largest indoor park in the world, but the Lotte company that built the complex did not stop at the indoor park, in addition to this area, which is called Adventure, there is also the so-called Magic Island in the entertainment complex - an island with outdoor attractions.

The total area of Lotte World is 128,000 square meters. The park was opened in 1989, from the date of its opening to this day the complex has been very popular, it is visited by about 6 million people every year. Every time I visit Seoul, this amusement park is a must visit. And every time I experience new emotions and sensations from being in it. Lotte World is constantly changing, new attractions, shows, cafes, souvenir shops appear here, so the park always seems to be a new and unexplored place even for those who have been there dozens of times. The park is open for visiting from 9:30 to 22:00.

Covered area - "Adventure"

The covered area of the Lotte World park consists of four floors and one underground floor, on which indoor ice rink. Magic Island consists of one floor, in this space there are both attractions and food courts. Also on the island is the Castle of Aurora, there are no attractions in it, you can just walk and take pictures there.

How to get there

If you are not staying at the LOTTE hotel, there are several ways to get to the park:

One day at Lotte World

Relying on personal experience, I advise everyone to come to Lotte World by the opening and, preferably, on a weekday, in order to have time to ride on all the most interesting rides. Price entrance ticket to the park is:

Do not be afraid to come to Lotte World with small children, the park has a children's area for the youngest visitors.

If you want to grab a bite to eat at Lotte World, you will find a lot of different cafes there, although most of them are fast food, but there are also a few Korean and Italian restaurants. It is best to leave the park in the evening an hour or an hour and a half before closing, so that you can relax and have fun in this wonderful place for the whole day.

Top 5 most exciting rides in Lotte World:

  • Free fall(Gyro Drop, located on Magic Island). Free fall is one of the most exciting attractions of this park. The whole point of this attraction is to see the most beautiful from a considerable height and feel fear at the very moment when you start to fall and do not feel any gravity for two seconds.

  • Atlantis(Atlantis, located on Magic Island). Roller Coaster Atlantis is a great combination of high speed, steep descents and unusual scenery. While riding this attraction, you will definitely experience fear and joy at the same time and get an adrenaline rush for the rest of the day. The speed of descent reaches an average of 72 kilometers per hour. When I first saw this attraction, it struck me with its decorations, they really look very realistic, and some of them are simply amazing in their size.

  • Jurassic Park(Flume Ride, located in the Adventure covered area). The Jurassic Park water attraction allows us to plunge into a beautiful world with huge moving dinosaurs and giant plants. In addition to the great surroundings, this is a great chance to stay splashed after skiing. Jurassic Park is sure to become a favorite attraction for those who do not like or are afraid to ride roller coasters.
  • Pharaonic Fury(Pharaoh`s Fury, located in the Adventure covered area). The attraction Pharaoh Fury combines EVERYTHING: roller coasters, jeep rides, stunning special effects, adrenaline rush and joy. To tell the truth, this is my favorite attraction in this park. Pharaoh`s Fury is located on the 4th floor in the Adventure zone and is not very easy to find, so there is almost never a queue at the attraction and you can ride it as much as you want!

Cafes and restaurants

And now more about food. At first glance, there is not so much in the park good restaurants where you can eat tasty and cheap. The first few times I visited Lotte World, we ate only fast food, since there was not much time to look for a normal cafe, and we chose the first one that came across, ate quickly and quickly ran to the rides. But then, when there was no longer such a craving for attractions, we took care of this issue and here are a few places that I liked (including fast food cafes and places where they sell various sweets):

  • Lotteria (Located in the Adventure covered area). Lotteria is the most famous burger joint in Seoul. This chain of cafes has a lot of fast food outlets scattered throughout Seoul, so you can eat in it not only in Lotte World. It's really cheap and the food is delicious. When we arrive in, sometimes we run there for a bite to eat! The average bill for a family of three is 20100KRW($17)

  • Lake Pizza (located on Magic island, near the lake). Lake Pizza is a classic New York thick crust pizza. The pizza is very satisfying last time when I was there, I ate only two pieces and dinner for a family of three cost only 34350KRW ($ 30), compared to other pizzerias, this is inexpensive and tasty!
  • Iron Bull`s Restaurant (located in the Adventure covered area). Iron Bull`s Restaurant is a grill restaurant with excellent steaks and large portions. This restaurant is for lovers of excellent meat! Dinner for three people cost - 45000KRW ($ 40)
  • Bowl (located in the Adventure covered area). The Bowl is a classic Korean restaurant where you can even watch your food being prepared! The thing I liked the most about this restaurant is the grilled meat, it's just amazing! Meals are not expensive compared to other Korean restaurants in the park, which is a big plus. Average account - 40000KRW ($34)
  • YogerPresso (located in the Adventure covered area). Yogerpresso is a cafe that makes delicious frozen yoghurts with various additions in the form of fruits, chocolates and other sweets, they also fry waffles and pancakes, and brew coffee. 3 frozen yogurts at Yogerpresso cost only 15000KRW($13)

Things to do in the park besides riding the rides
