Good afternoon We rested in Kranevo at the Pancho Hotel for 12 nights in July 2014. The two of us - me (42 years old) and my mother. I’ll say right away that we were satisfied with the hotel, its owners, the sea, and the weather. Now, in order.

We arrived very early in the morning, the hostess asked us to wait in the lobby until 8-00, breakfast would begin. Then we went to the sea and checked into room 11 on the second floor at 11:00. The owner helped carry the heavy bag. It was very nice and very useful, since we were pretty tired from the trip.

We really enjoyed.

The only thing is that it takes about 15 minutes to walk to the beach - half on asphalt, half along a path through a field. But if this doesn’t bother you, I highly recommend it. The price-quality ratio is very good.

My wife and I vacationed for 12 days in September 2014.

The only negative is that we arrived at 6 am and checked in at 3 pm...

Everything else more than compensated for this unpleasant moment.

The distance to the sea here is almost the same everywhere (500-800 m). There was absolutely enough everything related to food (breakfast and dinner).

There is a market and many shops with both food and clothing. Lots of cafes.

Cozy rooms. Wonderful hosts (special thanks to the owner Flamen!).

There is Wi-Fi in the hotel. You can use it for free. Safe at reception. Billiards. Skate))

In September, in the village of Kranevo, the season is considered over, so everything closes until spring.

It is better to take currency with you. It is also possible to pay by bank cards.

The beach is sandy. The sea is not deep, so you can safely go with small children.

Nearby are Golden Sands, Albena and Balchik, where you can just stroll and have a good time.

In Albena (4 km) there are many shops with souvenirs and gifts (20 minutes walk along the beach). In Balchik you can (should!) definitely visit the Botanical Garden (17 km).

The sea is warm and sometimes stormy.

If possible, we will definitely come here again))

it is not air conditioned. It was very hot in July and without air conditioning it was very stuffy. After my husband left, my child and I were moved to an attic with windows on the sunny side; it was unbearable there. The heat began already in the morning and even the canopy over the balcony door was missing. This, to be honest, spoiled the whole experience. Well, it was hard for us to walk in the heat to the sea, or rather FROM the sea, because we had to walk through open space.

Otherwise, the hotel is friendly, perfectly located on the very edge of the village, under the windows there is a field of sunflowers, an inexpensive but tasty bistro is nearby, supermarkets are 1.5 times cheaper than on the main street, an equestrian club is also nearby, it’s quiet, which was very important for us . Unobtrusive but attentive atmosphere, decent breakfast.

But next time I will only go to an air-conditioned room (one room does have air conditioning), or to another hotel.

We really enjoyed.

The food at breakfast, the staff and the general attitude towards guests, the overall feeling of the hotel - everything is just wonderful.

For breakfast - always - 4 types of sausages, 3 types of cheese, buns, bread, tomatoes, cucumbers, 2 types of jam, tea, watermelon. Coffee was brought upon request. I advise you to arrive for breakfast strictly at 8-00. The hostess offered dinners for an additional fee, but we didn't need it. Visiting different cafes and restaurants (mechanas) in Kranevo in the evenings is very pleasant, especially since this is not our first time in Kranevo, we already have our favorite places.

About favorite places. I actually went just for the quiet cleanest beach between Kranevo and Albena. Landmark - 29, 30 rescue towers. It’s very nice to relax there and even sleep to the whispering sea waves under the caressing rays. Do not go there with small children. Pioneers (there are a great many of them in Kranevo) are not allowed there (nudi zones), only to pass by without stopping. Favorite cafe is Bulgarian, near Izvora. Beautiful view- from a panoramic platform on the road to Varna. See photo.

I will definitely return to Kranevo! Will I return to Pancho? Maybe if they don’t recommend a hotel closer to the sea. By the way, in July, all of Kranevo was full of signs saying “Svobodni stai”, which indicates that almost all hotels were not fully occupied. Let's read, learn, there is still time before the next vacation.

I don’t recommend this hotel with children, it’s still far from the sea.

I will answer any questions [email protected].

See you again in sunny Bulgaria!!!

What is personal data

Personal Information - Contact Information, as well as information identifying an individual left by the user on the project.

Why is consent required for the processing of personal data required?

152-FZ “On Personal Data” in Article 9, paragraph 4 indicates the need to obtain “the written consent of the subject of personal data to process his personal data.” The same law clarifies that the information provided is confidential. The activities of organizations that register users without obtaining such consent are illegal.

Read the law on the official website of the President of the Russian Federation. Good hotel.
I rested in Pancho 2* from 07/30/16 to 08/13/16 with my wife.

Tour operator - "Baltic Coast" (St. Petersburg).
The air carrier is Bulgarian Airlines. Plus - convenient time of arrival in Varna: 09:25 and departure: 02:40. Minus - the plane is old, dirty, the backs of the seats on the plane are low. During the flight they only give you a croissant and juice/water/coffee.

Transfer from Varna airport to the hotel and back: the owner of the hotel, Plamen, drove him in his car. He is not only a good chef, but also a good driver. Delivered quickly (about 30 minutes) and without problems.

About the hotel. We settled in number 9 on the 3rd floor. The room is good, clean, spacious, high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows. Windows and balcony face the sea (see photo). The downside is that in nearby hotel In the afternoon and evening the children were very noisy.
Meals at the hotel. The tour package included only breakfast. Dinner was taken from time to time. Everything is delicious. Dinner per person at Pancho - 4 euros (8 levs). For comparison: dinner in Kranevo: 10-15 euros (20-30 levs). On Cherno More Street they roast chicken on a spit. Inexpensive and tasty.
We visited the restaurants closest to Pancho: Laguna, Anchor. Did not like. Laguna is not tasty and somehow dirty. At Ankor the waitress doesn't understand Russian. She brought the wrong salad that we ordered, instead of chicken liver - beef. In short, Pancho's is tastier and cheaper.
Regarding the pool in previous reviews. Pancho has two stars. What kind of pool could there be? Go to three rubles. By the way, if you walk from Pancho towards the sea along Primorska Street, then on the left side there are hotels with a swimming pool. I don't remember the name.
Regarding air conditioners. IMHO, going on vacation to the south in the summer and not booking a room with air conditioning is a fatal mistake. A month before the trip, I booked a room with air conditioning from the hotel owner Valentina by email: [email protected]. The previous review is inaccurate. 6 rooms without air conditioning (No. 13-18) not on the 3rd, but on the 4th floor (attic). I talked with those who were placed on the 4th floor in a room without air conditioning. It was difficult for them, to put it mildly, and they very much regretted not booking a room with air conditioning.
I agree with those who write that it’s hard to walk to the beach and back for 20 minutes in the heat. Especially children and elderly people. It is better for them to take a hotel on the first line.
On a 5-point scale, the Pancho 2* hotel can be given a solid “four”.

Sea. Warm, but out of 14 days 11 were stormy. There are no breakwaters, so the waves are quite large. Because of this, the water was cloudy (sand, algae). For 9 days, lifeguards hung out a yellow flag (be careful, it is advisable not to swim alone). For 2-3 days there was a red flag (danger, swimming is prohibited). On such days the wind was so strong that umbrellas were torn out and broken. According to local residents, in the second half of August, jellyfish appear in the sea.

Beach. Where the stationary umbrellas and sunbeds are installed is a bit dirty (cigarette butts, garbage). The advantage of this part of the beach is that there are lifeguards (relevant for children). We went to wild beach towards Albena. The sand there is clean and there are fewer people. What I didn’t like about the beach – the pack stray dogs who shit everywhere. For some reason, purebred dogs are walked on the beach by their owners. (see photo).
It is better to swim away from the place where the Golyamata River flows into the sea. Sewage flows into such rivers (this is, in particular, visible in the place where Shipka Street crosses this river). In Bulgaria, rotavirus peaks in July-August. Therefore, doctors recommend making sure that water does not get into your mouth when bathing. (Relevant primarily for children).

Kranevo.

Pros:
* Small village.
* Not many people.
* Quite quiet and calm.
* Prices are 1.5 times lower than major resorts Bulgaria.

Minuses:
*A bit dirty. The overflowing, stinking garbage cans were especially annoying. Garbage removal is irregular. Garbage cans are placed on the sidewalks or directly on the roadway (see photo).
* No place to walk. There are sidewalks not everywhere, but where there are, they are in such a state that you will break your legs. You have to walk along the roadway where cars pass (see photo). You can take a walk on the territory of the Thermo Palace 5* hotel (ornamental plants, flowers, sculptures, benches, hammocks, children's playground) (see photo).

Answers to questions from previous reviews.

Are there toilets, showers and changing cabins on the beach
-There is a toilet, but I couldn’t find a shower or changing cabins.

Which is better to take money - rubles or euros?
-Euro, because dollars and especially rubles are an unfavorable exchange rate.

Is it customary to tip in Bulgaria? And if so, how much ;) ?
-Tips are usually rounded (up to 10%).

Do I need to take mosquito repellent?
-I take a fumigator and plates against flies and mosquitoes on every trip. Despite the mesh on the balcony door, insects flew into the room. I turned on the fumigator at night. In general, in Kranevo there are some small (2-5 mm) flies that bite painfully. The bite site hurts for a long time. At the pharmacy on Cherno More Street we bought cream for insect bites.

Hospitable and kind hosts Valya and Plamen - a married couple, their children and mother, assistant Sylvia - do everything to make your stay in their home comfortable. My husband and two children visited them in July, a room on the 3rd floor, very large, 3 beds + a child’s room, a refrigerator, air conditioning, a small table and 3 armchairs, a table, a mirror, a large wardrobe, bedside tables, a set of plastic furniture on a cozy balcony. In the bathroom there is a shower cabin, a hairdryer (!), a basin, a clothes dryer on the balcony - everything down to the smallest detail. Wi-Fi is better in the lounge on cozy sofas. Breakfast and dinner are delicious, prepared by the owner himself! He fixed our youngest son’s stroller and didn’t take any money! The attentive Valya offered porridge for our children on the very first morning, which made the other guests happy too! The hostess or assistant makes coffee for the guests herself (this is the first time in my considerable experience as a traveler that I have seen this!) People are very kind and attentive to the smallest detail! The hotel itself is very cozy, neat, the area is surrounded by greenery. It is located on the outskirts of the village - and this is a BIG, BIG PLUS!!! In the center of Kranevo there is resort noise, bustle, dirt, cars and rental bicycles are driving along the central “shopping” street, the impression from the center is unpleasant, it’s better not to go at all... In the same place where “Pancho” is located (10 minutes walk slowly from the center ) private sector, newly built hotels, vineyards, silence, air, view from the balcony of the mountains, field, forest, birds singing, an owl lives on the drain opposite... Behind the hotel, the road to the beach through the field and abandoned plum orchards... Everyone collected and ate day, in the neighboring houses you can buy from the owners everything that has grown, cheaply, they will pick it in front of you. Next to the hotel there is a shop with prices cheaper than in the center, a bakery with awesome strudels!!! Not far from bus stop, from which you can leave on No. 53 to Varna on schedule. It is better to go to Balchik from Albena (walk along the beach for 20-30 minutes). In Kranevo, it takes 10-15 minutes to walk from the hotel to the beach, through a field, through a forest (but there are cars driving and it should be rain-free) or through the territory of a 5* spa hotel, across a river on a bridge, along a path lined with planks, through a horse farm. On the beach, to find a better place, you should go towards Albena by sea, cross two rivers in three steps (fish come into them from the sea to spawn in schools) - the water is cold, the contrast with the sea is obvious, it’s cool to stand with one foot in the river, and the other is in the sea))), there are no people, there is an area for nudists. The beach is wide, the shells are large and beautiful, the sand is fine or coarse - different... We walked along the beach in the morning, taking rests, to Albena, we had lunch there at the resort administration (restaurant Central - set lunch for 4 20 levs, including dessert and cooked mussels in a saucepan with beer to go, we discovered this place last year, and even this time we weren’t lazy for the sake of such deliciousness and ridiculous prices walk to Albena), after lunch in Albena we took a bus and went to Balchik, a curious town and an indispensable place for an independent visit - the botanical garden (do not overpay the tour guides for the excursion, it is worth coming to Balchik and paying a penny on the spot). In Kranevo, the package included only breakfast, but every other day we ordered dinner from the hosts - a plate of hot food and salad, beer or wine and a choice of juice, or Buffet- 8 lev. The menu includes barbecue, cabbage rolls, some kind of zucchini rolls with feta cheese, Shopska salad, meat and seafood, vegetables... I liked the cafe in Morski Dar - family hotel in the center and on the beach of La Paya, the most popular places are Mehana Kranevo and Izvora - it’s better to come at lunchtime, in the evening the waiters are tormented, although it’s beautiful and tasty. Nothing to do in Ajax. On Volga Street, 11 there is a very cozy place TRISTNIKATA, both tasty and inexpensive, with national flavor, the waiters are very nice. Opposite Mehana Kranevo there is a store called Sklad with prices like in a supermarket in Balchik for ordinary townspeople. To the right of this restaurant you can buy fried fish, a very popular shop, delicious!!! I repeat that it is better not to take fruit from shopping streets - Turkish, in the private sector it is very cheap and from their own farms. It is much more profitable to change money, of course, in Varna, the rate is slightly lower in Balchik, and in Kranevo the only bank has the lowest rate, in Albena even lower. In Kranevo it is better to go to Terma Palace, if you don’t get to Varna in the near future, this resort is the most profitable. In general, the pleasant impressions of staying in Kranevo remained precisely because of the hotel, its owners and location. We are very grateful to Valya and Plamen for their hospitality!!!
