We vacationed in the summer of 2018 with two children, 4 and 8 years old. We expected more from the hotel, but there were many disadvantages. The furniture in the room is old, the doors are sloppy, the pluses are the sea view, but they paid extra for it, and there is also a modern flat TV. Breakfast is monotonous, there is no Wi-Fi in the hotel, not even paid, the reception staff are unfriendly and reluctant to answer questions, the fire alarm went off several times at night. Room cleaning is regular. And the biggest plus is the proximity of the sea and the embankment, the result is a solid 3 stars, but not 4.

My friends. This hotel is simply wow! In general, I absolutely do not recommend it. It’s better to rent an apartment from your grandmother and live there. Details below if you have the patience. It's a pity that you can't attach a photo! When we chose the tour and looked at the photos, we were drooling! Sunny Beach, first line, snow-white hotel with a fairly large swimming pool! And the reviews on the sites seem to be good and the operator gave his recommendations. We were happy, we bought it, we arrived, we moved in... And then it started. Good housekeeping, you say? God willing, once every three days they will come and wipe the floor and throw in towels. New towels? Yeah! Schazzzz. I go to the shower after cleaning and ask my girlfriend to give me a towel. She conveys it and it’s good that she didn’t immediately start wiping herself off. There are black spots all over the towel, like the ones that remain after my girlfriend washes mascara out of her eyes))))))) You need to be reminded about cleaning several times every day at the reception desk. And it’s not a fact that they will remove it. The rooms are really large, with a huge balcony and a great view of the pool. But the state is a pipe. There were smudges everywhere, as if the rooms were flooded by the neighbors above. And not only here. We went to visit friends - it was the same story. dirty walls with holes)) An angry guest left a hole)) I was very pleased with the bathroom. In good condition and with strong water pressure. Taking a shower is a pleasure. We only had breakfast and after 10 days it became boring. The dishes don't change. Scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes, coffee. In Russia, I feel like I won’t be eating these dishes for a long time.)))) There are a lot of Turks and Arabs. They talk their way, even if you close your ears. And at night there is barrage in the hotel corridors. In general, I absolutely do not recommend it. It’s better to rent an apartment from your grandmother and live there.

We have long wanted to visit Bulgaria. And now the dream has come true. The hotel itself produced overall good impression. The cons were not critical, the pros were satisfactory. But let me make a reservation right away: the hotel is not for everyone. My friend and I are not even thirty, so we enjoyed the party atmosphere of the hotel. However, for those who are accustomed to Bulgaria as a zone relaxing holiday, I think it’s worth choosing another placement. The room is larger than usual, with a kitchenette: kitchen furniture, microwave, kettle, coffee maker and even a set of dishes. None of us had the desire to cook anything, much less wash the dishes, but perhaps someone would find this option useful. Meals are half board. Quite varied. Traditional breakfast and a very, very good tasty dinner. We usually dined outside the hotel, so gastronomically this further enhanced the effect of variety. The hotel pool is large as standard, there are enough sun loungers for everyone. Animators entertained by the pool every day. Respect to you guys! The sea is good. The holiday was a success!

Excellent youth hotel. We vacationed with a young man from June 29 to July 6, 2015. We arrived very early, and we had to wait a while for check-in, because check-in was at 2 p.m. and we were warned about this. So we were ready. We were offered to leave our things in the luggage storage room. The room is locked, and our suitcases were closed and wrapped in film, so this fact did not scare us. We were checked in at 12.00, because the room was ready earlier, in the Chaika building. A room on the second floor with a telephone, TV, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and a set of dishes. Central air conditioning worked great. There are no complaints about the service. Bed linen was changed every other day, towels were changed every day, dirty dishes were washed. As for food, it is very varied. We took breakfast and dinner. Enough, even a lot. The dishes are varied. Lots of fruits and vegetables. There were enough plates, forks, and glasses for everyone. Dirty dishes are immediately removed and tables are wiped down. We have never encountered a situation where it was dirty, there was not enough food, or there was a war over appliances. The pool is good, there are plenty of umbrellas and sun loungers. Animators worked. Their program was not the same every day. It was fun to play water polo or "small towns." Before the trip, I read the reviews and was horrified, I thought the vacation would be ruined. But the impressions are the most positive. Thanks to all.

Planning a seaside holiday this year has proven more challenging than ever. Türkiye and Egypt are closed, Spain and Greece (of a good level) were unaffordable. Even with the expansion of resort areas, Russia is not able to offer a good level for reasonable money. Thus, the choice fell on Bulgaria. This summer, the number of Russian tourists in this country has increased significantly due to the political situation in Russia and the fairly reasonable prices offered by Bulgaria.

But, unfortunately, the hotel I chose turned out to be far from European level. An all-inclusive hotel where in reality everything is turned off.

Let's start the story from the very beginning.

We flew to Bulgaria at 2 am on 07/06/16. Considering that check-in at Samara airport begins three hours before departure, and we still needed to pick up our passports (which were from the tour operator at the airport), we were at the departure point with all our luggage already at 11 pm on July 5, 2016. Thus, after flying for about 4 hours, we ended up at Burgas airport at 5.25 Moscow time.

After fumbling with our luggage, the very slow Bulgarians finally took us to the hotel, where we arrived at 6.45.

And what was our surprise, and even more indignation, when it turned out that Usually, check in at the hotel is only at 14.00, and check out only at 12.00 and not a minute earlier. Usually this condition can be easily circumvented. If you arrive before check-in time, you can pay about 20 dollars extra, and you can sit quietly in your room, but no, not in this hotel. We had to wait for the appointed time. And it's not a lack of numbers. We were directly told that there were rooms, but they would not check us in, since the manager told them so. And their chic word “can’t”, which they always used in their speech. Everything is "not possible" in this hotel.

But this “beautiful” morning did not end there. Without sleep for more than 24 hours, we waited until check-in time. But already at 12.30 people stopped sitting quietly on the sofas at the reception, and began to stand in line. We also hurried to do this. By one o'clock in the afternoon there was a thick, huge queue at the hotel, 7-10 people wide and approximately 6-8 meters long. And for an hour and a half we crowded and waited for 14.00. At 14.05, a smiling and slow girl began to check in with people. We were about 6th in line and by 15.00 we were in the room. But when we went out for dinner at 18.00 the queue was only half cleared

! And the question is, why create such a crush if those who arrived at 6 am could have moved in a long time ago, and those who arrived later could also gradually move in. But no! We will deliberately gather a crush and increase the indignation of vacationers!

Thus, having successfully missed the paid breakfast and lunch, we found ourselves in the room. The hotel's surprises didn't end there. We paid for a room with a sea view. And for seven days of rest

this “luxury” cost us an overpayment of 20 thousand rubles

and yes... here it is... the sea...

How come I didn’t notice him right away? In response to our complaint that we were moved into the wrong building, the receptionist said a brilliant phrase: “There are no other rooms.” (By the way, during the entire vacation I realized that in Bulgaria the two main words are “yama” and “not possible” ). Since we no longer had the strength to swear for a long time, we calmed down and checked into this room.

We got a room in the Arcadia building on the 3rd floor.

A few words about the case . The Metropol and Arcadia buildings have a common reception. The two buildings are connected by a long corridor.

And on the doors between the compartments there are wonderful signs in three languages:

    About the number.

On the floor dirty, dusty carpet with huge black stains. (Some were luckier and had tiles on the floor). Double bed. On one side the mattress is very squashed. The bedspread is wrinkled, as if they had staged World War III on the bed. Jelly and lumpy pillows. (according to the classification of Elena Letuchaya). The bed linen is new, clean, without pills.

Pros: big panoramic window has a mirror effect. If you don’t turn on the lights in your room, you won’t be visible from the street.

There is a big mirror TV with three Russian channels, refrigerator. It's empty but working. It's very cold.

For lighting in the room, there are two lamps above the bed, two above the TV, and spotlights in the hallway near the closet. By the way, The closet is spacious. Lots of hangers. Safe there is, but he paid. Keys must be collected at reception. And pay there too.

Air conditioner yes, it works, but not regulated. If you set any number of degrees, it will still change to the standard 27 or 28 degrees. What the trick is is not clear. It seems to be blowing, but there is no coolness. At night it lowers the temperature itself. I don't know where the logic is.

The bathroom is combined with a toilet.

There are almost no complaints here: clean, beautiful, tidy (at least upon arrival). From toiletries: two shower gels, shampoo, conditioner and hair caps, two toilet papers. The hairdryer is working. Dries hair well.

However not enough towels. Upon arrival, the room had two large towels, one small for hands and one for feet. It falls far short of 4 stars.

The balcony is a bit cramped. There are two armchairs, a table, and an ashtray (although it is said that all rooms are non-smoking). By the way, this is how you can see all the balconies of the building: what hangs where and who is doing what.

Deserves special words room cleaning level . It is stated that the room is cleaned daily and bed linen is changed twice a week. What actually happened:

    1. toilet paper is changed daily;

    2. trash is taken out daily;

    3. towels changed in 7 days ONLY 1 TIME. And this by big agreement and with disassembly at the reception. The cleaning lady states that there are “no towels.” Funny! And when they changed it, they gave me two towels with some monstrously huge brown stains. Having asked the cleaning lady to change them, we again heard: “There are more towels.”

    4. carpet vacuumed in 7 days ONLY 1 TIME. And this despite the fact that there are no disposable slippers in the room, and we naturally wore street shoes. And all the city dirt and dust, as well as sand from the beach, rested quietly and peacefully on the carpet during the holidays.

    5. The floor in the bathroom was NEVER washed! That's how we brought mud from the sea onto the floor on the first day, and it increased every day! Hair, sand, and dust beautifully decorated the white tiles on the floor.

    6. neither the sink, nor the bathroom, nor the toilet have ever been washed or disinfected!

    7. bed linen was NEVER changed(and they had to do this 4 times!), the made bed was not straightened or remade.

Either I'm too spoiled, or the cleaners are getting their money in vain!

    Nutrition.

Firstly, it should be mentioned that the hotel has three huge buildings and two restaurants. But during our vacation Only one restaurant was open. That's why queues behind closed doors- This is a piquant prelude to work up an appetite before eating. And while eating you have to stand and wait for forks, knives and plates(I’m generally silent about spoons; it was lucky if I could wait for them, as well as deep bowls for soup).

Secondly, range. Maybe I'm being picky, but in my opinion he rather meager, or The quality of the food itself leaves much to be desired. Very often almost all dishes are cold!

Breakfast - egg apotheosis. Boiled eggs, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, omelet. Boiled/fried sausages. Boiled/smoked sausage. Fried bacon. The pancakes are disgusting (if you try to roll them into a tube, they will simply break at the bend. I don’t know what they make them from, but they look and taste unpleasant). Regular/curd cheese. Small salted herring/fish. Breakfast cereal (chocolate balls). Jam and chocolate spread. Buns. The only thing that makes me happy about breakfast is the coffee from the coffee machine (you’ll just have to first look to see which one has milk, otherwise on the first day I received “milk chocolate” in the form of cloudy water, a la there was no water in the house, and it suddenly went with rust), various variations of bread, and fruits (they provided peaches, nectarines, apples, oranges, bananas). It seems like a lot of things, but in fact I had to sit on scrambled eggs and sausages for the entire vacation. A bit boring.

Among the advantages of the restaurant - Can freely bring food into your room. No one stops you at the exit of the restaurant and takes your food away. Therefore, we often carried sausages, cheese, bread and fruit from breakfast. We took it with us to the beach as a snack.

And what we didn’t eat was given to the seagulls.

They cracked everything with pleasure, but, unfortunately, they immediately went to the toilet. Therefore, in some places the balcony was filled with return “gifts”.

Dinner and supper similar. Here you can already walk around. Two types of soup (possible: chicken soup, veal soup, cream soup, tomato soup. I didn’t come across any others). Fried, stewed chicken, chicken cutlets, chicken sausages, chicken nuggets. Beef cutlets, stewed beef, fried beef. Fried fish, deep-fried fish, stewed fish, breaded fish cutlets. Pasta, broccoli, cauliflower, risotto, pilaf, lasagna, pizza, rice rolls in some leaves. The fish is salted. All salads are dry without dressing, except for the traditional Bulgarian salad "Snezhanka" (yogurt, grated cucumbers, greens). Sliced tomatoes and cucumbers. Usually I chose her. Since salads are impossible to eat. Desserts: nuts with condensed milk, cakes with cream, Turkish sweets. Free ice cream for dinner. (I liked the melon flavor. I ate that all vacation.) Not bad strawberry, lemon. The rest are so-so or complete crap. But there is nothing to record all this diversity with. Tea is not provided, nor is coffee. Only concentrated juices (not tasty in this hotel), beer, wine (but we don’t like that).

By the way, all the names of the dishes are written in Bulgarian and English.

Infrastructure. In addition, the hotel has a spa, hairdresser, shops, two swimming pools (large and small). By the way, the whole of Bulgaria operates only on the local currency - Lev(approximately 33 Russian rubles) and stotinka(1 lev equals 100 stotinki). Neither euros, nor dollars, nor even rubles are accepted anywhere. You can change money at the reception. But the exchange rate there is unfavorable (1 euro = 1.86 levs, while everywhere else the minimum is 1.9). There are many exchange offices around Sunny Beach. The most popular is "Crown". The course is tolerable. But it's best to find Raiffeisen Bank. The course there is the best. But no matter how hard we tried, we never found him. We changed money at Korona.

    Animation.

We didn’t go to local amateur performances, since they all took place literally under our balcony.

    Generally,

However, the beach is city. Sun beds and umbrellas are available for a fee. You can’t just lie down in this zone. You can lie down either behind the paid zone or between two paid zones. In fact, this territory is five meters wide at most. Not enough space. Hello, Soviet holiday at sea! The hotel does not provide beach towels, so if you don’t want to splurge on paid sun loungers at the sea and don’t want lie by the pool (sunbeds and umbrellas are free, but they are occupied at the beginning of the vacation immediately and for the entire vacation), then take some kind of beds with you.

    About the sea.

Water early July warm, pleasant. Not exactly fresh milk, but nice to swim in. There are no jellyfish or mystical “biters”. However there is a lot of algae in the sea. If during the first half of the vacation it could still be tolerated. It feels like you've fallen and you are floating in water where you have thrown pieces of cut grass. Then in the last days of our vacation the situation worsened. If you've ever cooked a large pot of thick cabbage soup and couldn't finish it and decided to throw out half of it. They put their hand into the pan. Then you felt the cabbage-potato thickening and a bit of broth. This is exactly what I felt during the last two days of our vacation. Only in the sea you don’t let go of just one hand, but go in with your whole body. And you find yourself in these “cabbage soup”, only instead of cabbage there are thick green algae.

Very disgusting. It was simply impossible to swim!(Unfortunately, I didn’t take a close-up photo. But you can compare the color of the water in the two photos above: day 1 and the last day).

Result: Tourists' opinions about a country largely depend on their impression of the hotel in which they stayed. This hotel significantly spoiled my holiday. I don't recommend it!

You may be interested in my other reviews of hotels by the sea:

I apologize for the emotionality and length of the review!

Thank you for your attention and patience!
