“So the warm summer days have passed in the wonderful Jazz Phanara hotel.. Thank you very much...” Usually Moamen and the guest relations team like such reviews. Sorry, I’ll disappoint you, I won’t shower you with diamonds, but I’ll also try to write frankly, from my point of view.

We spent a very long time choosing a hotel, we settled on the “Jazz Phanar” because of the bay and the reef, for 11 nights it cost almost $1,500, this is a saver room, which after purchase, on the same dates, fell in price by 300 bucks!
Check-in was unusually fast, considering that we arrived at the hotel at 8 am, with God's help or the help of Allah we were given a room by 12. The guy from the reception ambiguously hinted that I would “thank” him for this.... You don’t pay salaries to your employees?!

The first disappointment is the room. A kennel built during ancient socialism, or probably “serfdom,” measuring 3 x 3 m and a small toilet. The air conditioning is such a bummer that the mere sight of it makes you want to cry, it’s good that it worked. True, there were 2 full-fledged balconies, on which only laundry was then dried. The rooms are old and very terrible - and we read about this, but we thought that just spending the night would be enough. They didn’t have time to clean the room, so the cleaning guy Joseph (???? ?? ?? ????) cleaned it right there on the go. By the way, a completely normal guy! My advice to EVERYONE who will live in this hotel, ESPECIALLY where there are saver and family rooms - take a mosquito fumigator with you!! Mosquitoes, it would probably be more accurate to say - darkness, darkness! And the first night was very creepy, they wouldn’t take their Raid & Raptor pills. A solution was found - at the pharmacy across the road from the hotel they bought a plate of tablets for the fumigator, and forgot about the existence of small insects. They don't kill them, but they don't bother the mosquitoes all night either. The smell is similar to eucalyptus tablets. Although there were 2-3 times around the hotel they were starved, but the fact that in the room was “to the point.” At the end of our stay, the unpleasant smell from the toilet was very disturbing; apparently, not everything was in order with the sewage system. Of course, the number really upset me, for such money.

The territory is quite large, but oblong and narrow. From the room to the sea approx. 900m. Fortunately, the area was constantly cleaned and the walk to the sea was not particularly stressful. Everything is clean, the lawns and shrubs are neatly trimmed. The area is VERY green and VERY well-groomed. There were bags hanging on the trees along the fence, as I understood, to scare away snakes. Various types of flower beds and palm trees different types. Thank you very much, especially to the guys who work like bees creating such beauty and comfort. A small “but” - it was a little unpleasant in the morning to see dead cockroaches on the steps from the pool bar to the beach, no smaller in size than those from Madagascar. Which were later removed out of sight.

Staff. Thanks to F&B assistant Ahmet. A very responsible person. I asked how they were accommodated, how the room was, how the food was... They said that the bidet faucet was leaking - they changed it right away, because... there was a puddle in the toilet. It was nice to have such care! I wrote about the janitor Joseph above. Thanks to the chef - El Sayed (usually works at the pool bar to serve dishes, but he was also in the main restaurant and La Gazelli. In general, for the most part, the staff is very friendly, responsive, and welcoming!!!
Thank you very much to the guys from the beach - Mahmud and Sheriff!! Like accidentally cutting my finger on a sea urchin, they treated my wound with antiseptic, and Mahmoud brought lime to neutralize the effect of the needles. ???? ??

But, as they say, “there’s a black mark in the family”: at the beach bar, there was a redneck bartender (Mohamed) who said that either the coffee machine was broken or there was no water, when they asked to make coffee not in a machine, but in a coffee machine. I understand that it’s too lazy to make coffee when you can just press a button on the machine and that’s it... When my wife asked me to give him a mint leaf for tea, he said, “It’s basil, there’s no mint.” In fact, it was mint.

Weather. Everywhere it was written that this is a windless bay where you can swim all year round (and that’s why the hotel was chosen). And it is true. So it is, peace and quiet. Only from December 4 to 7, the wind was blowing from the north, making it cold not only to swim and sunbathe, but also to be outside in general. Why am I so "lucky"? Then the wind changed direction and everything became wonderful. quiet, calm and windless.

Sea. It turned out to be very pleasant. At 13, 14 o'clock the tide began and, as a rule, the first row of sun loungers was in the water after some time. The guys on the beach only managed to move them further away. The sea is good, clean, again before lunch, after which it was a little cloudy. Lots of different beautiful fish!!! The reef is very beautiful!!! Not far from the shore, there are quite a lot of hedgehogs under the rocks! Out of my own stupidity, I bumped into one, fortunately with one toe and not too much. Be sure to wear coral shoes, special. slippers. It will definitely be calmer and more reliable.

Beach. There is no pontoon. With a good entrance to the sea, but VERY small for such a hotel!! Sometimes there isn’t enough space for everyone, so on the sunbeds that people occupied in the morning so that there was room and went to have breakfast or collect the children, they put reminders that in an hour your things and towels will be collected and handed over to the towel collection point. It’s somehow not good that while you are away, someone is touching your things..... Moreover, on the paper itself it is written - “RULES FOR USE OF THE POOL”. Dear management - the beach and sea are NOT a POOL. Those who sleep until lunch and then come to the beach - the sunbeds of others are vacated for them. On the beach there is a water cooler and a machine with iced peach-flavored tea. Plus, there is a diving center “Pyramid”, where I rented fins more than once. Absolutely free!!! Very convenient, thank you for this!!! As a deposit - 5 dollars or euros for a pair of fins, which are then returned to you.

Animation. I can't say that it doesn't exist. It is there, but not intrusive. Constantly water aerobics in the sea or pool. Playing darts (near the pool), I watched yoga classes there. We were invited to a concert of the group “Time and Glass” (a ticket cost 25 bucks). There is also a room for children with an animator. But this is more likely due to the fact that the hotel is more aimed at people in the older age group.

The cuisine is quite the same every day (especially breakfast, as I understand this is the case everywhere with the “all in” system). After a few days of omelettes, I switched to yogurts with various toppings and jams. Near the pool there are delicious burgers, fries and salads. There were quite a lot of different soups. There was a real shortage of seafood; Thursday was fish day. There were shrimp and fish and baby octopuses. I was very pleasantly surprised by the LaGazelle restaurant - a small number of people, a intimate atmosphere, Arab women baking flatbreads in front of you, grilled dishes always available. Probably the same assortment in the main restaurant, only a little less. (yes, the “gazelka”, as I called it, works from 18-30, until 20-30, at which time they already began to clear everything from the tables) The baked goods are almost the same every day, but tasty and there is a large selection of them. I can't say I didn't like it. I liked everything about the food. The chefs work hard!

Unfortunately, it was impossible to drink plain water (from the coolers). Pepsi, 7ap, Mirinda and powdered juices, which were diluted differently with water every day - orange, apple, pineapple. Teas, coffee. In the main restaurant and "gazelle" - usually from a machine. There is a coffee machine only at the beach bar (redneck Mohamed), the lobby bar "Fantasy" (next to the reception) and the bar near the pool Tample Bar (here the guys will NEVER refuse you or make stupid jokes, like on the beach). I can’t say anything about alcohol - I didn’t drink it. and in addition, many different cocktails are made in the lobby bar.

Bottom line.
What can we say globally? Do not take saver rooms and family rooms (they are promised to begin repairing them in mid-January 2019). There are still more positive emotions than negative ones. Is it worth going here? Well, in my opinion the prices are a little high. Again, I think because of the location of the hotel, among other things. Take fumigators with you.
And the most important thing.
Would I come here again?
Probably yes, JUST not in the saver room!!! And at a still more affordable price........... Thanks to everyone!!!

3 times in Egypt and 2 times in Sharm... Last time was here 5 years ago. Over the past 5 years, I have vacationed in Turkey, the Maldives, been to Mexico, the Dominican Republic... There was a period of time, we didn’t go anywhere... with my newborn son, we vacationed in Crimea for the first and second time (already in ours) and this summer we went to Montenegro . This is the third vacation this year and the longest flight. My son is 2 and 2... I am writing a review, also as a young parent.
I wanted to get away for a week and take my family to the sea. In May, only my son and wife swam in Crimea (they pulled him out of the water), and in Montenegro at the end of June the water temperature was also not encouraging... They swam, of course, but without enthusiasm... The water was cold. That’s why we went to Egypt; there were, in fact, no other options to fly not far and have a warm sea.
We chose this hotel based on a recommendation. A colleague at work returned from vacation a couple of weeks ago. She and her husband vacationed here.
What I liked:
1. The hotel is not big. For our dates of stay, judging by Booking.com, it was 40% full. In restaurants - Buffet. Breakfast and lunch are more or less free. For dinner in the main restaurant, you either have to line up at the door by 19:00, or go in the “second batch” around 20:00... We started going to the distant “Italian” restaurant, because... There are fewer people there and at 19:00. But the choice of dishes is more limited.
2. Very nice beach. You can enter the water from the shore; you can swim without slippers. Very comfortable with a child. When I was in Sharm for the first time, I stayed at the Royal Albatross Moderna hotel, entering the sea was from a pontoon, or 500 meters to walk in rubber slippers knee-deep in water, avoiding stones and sea ​​urchins. Here is beauty. Sand beach. Entry into the sea is good, neck deep, about 5-7 meters from the shore. There is a reef nearby, but you need to swim to the living corals, because... There is a dead colony near the shore. A consequence of a good entry into the sea. The beach is also not big. Even though the hotel was not very busy, there were enough sun loungers.
3. Good playground. Two slides, a swing, a wooden house... You can keep your child occupied while waiting for dinner.
In the main restaurant there is something like a "children's" or "diet" table. There are no spices in the dishes on this table. Quite suitable for feeding a child.
4. There is wifi. When we contacted the reception, we were given a login password and 150 MB of traffic for free. The fishing is best, of course, at the reception, but also at the pools and even on the beach. But the quality leaves much to be desired.
5. Friendly staff. Everyone is quite friendly. And the restaurant cooks and waiters, bartenders... I would especially like to note the work of the guys - animators. Well done.
What I didn't like:
1. Professional extortionists work at the reception. Having indicated at check-in that we had booked a room without a specific view from the window, they offered us a choice - either we would be accommodated in a room with windows facing the road (the hotel territory is elongated, on one side it borders with the territory of a neighboring hotel, and on the other with the highway), or with sea ​​view, but you have to pay extra. Having shown the official price for choosing a room - $200, they offered an unofficial calculation of $150. Having assessed the prospects, he indicated that he was ready for $100, the guy from the reception agreed and reissued our documents.
I’m writing about this not because I think it’s inappropriate to pay for choosing a view from your room window. This, of course, is a completely normal service. But, as indicated above, the hotel’s occupancy is 40%. Usually, when occupancy is low, hotels check into higher-quality rooms by default, or with a reservation, as, for example, the administrator at the Rubicon Hotel in Crimea did, when paying for a stay in a "standard" room, we were offered to check into a "junior suite" without additional payment, but with the obligation to move if our “junior suite” is booked by other guests. Of course, this creates positive emotions and impressions about the staff and the hotel as a whole. What can I say about Iberotel? Perhaps this is not the official position of the hotel, but a small business of the staff, but this does not change the essence of the matter. OK. We are not poor people, we can afford additional expenses of $100, but you, dear readers, keep this in mind.
Why do I still consider myself deceived? The fact is that the view of the sea was accompanied every evening by the musical accompaniment of an animated show held in a neighboring hotel. The music is loud enough. Enough to complicate the task of getting our baby into bed. And the reception staff couldn’t help but know this. By the way, I admired the sea view from the room for a total of 20 minutes during the entire vacation. While I was hanging up and picking up my swimming trunks from the balcony. Laughter. Now, of course, I wouldn’t do that... I would check into the offered room without unpacking my suitcases, live for one day and look around. The scammers from the reception would make a “deal” even every other day when contacting them. If there was a need for it, which I highly doubt. Also, after talking with other vacationers, we found out that many people pay extra for relocation. Some people don’t like the condition of the room, others don’t like the distance from the room to the sea/pools. Just be prepared that you will need to add $100 to the cost of the tour for a room that suits you.
2. The presence of ants in the room. Unknowingly, we made a big mistake on the evening of check-in by offering our son a snack in the room. Having eaten cookies and a banana on the bed, the skin of which we recklessly threw into the trash can, we brought disaster upon ourselves... This is an indescribable feeling!!! When you are sleeping and insects are crawling on you.
In the morning, at a meeting with the guide, we indicated this problem in the guest’s questionnaire. We were assured that measures would be taken. On this day, nothing was done by the hotel. They didn't even clean the room. They themselves began to take preventive measures - all of our son’s snacks were moved to the balcony (we had a room on the second floor) and all organic waste began to be carefully placed in the refrigerator and thrown into trash bins on the hotel grounds. After the room was cleaned there were fewer ants. But still they were there. After talking with other vacationers, we found out that many people have insects. Perhaps they are in the rooms neighboring hotels. Remembering my previous vacation in Sharm, I don’t remember any ants in the room.
3. The room is cleaned every other time. Of course, staying at the hotel with a small child, we could not provide a wide temporary plug for cleaning the room to the staff. We spent a significant period of time in the room from 11 to 15 hours (including leaving for lunch for 40-50 minutes). Hiding from the daytime heat and sun, devoting time to daytime sleep, there was a sign on the door of our room - do not disturb. But the staff was in no particular hurry to “capture the moment” of our absence from the room. It's a pity. Regular cleaning of the room is necessary to eliminate the presence of insects. And in this regard, I would like more attention to guests with small children from the hotel staff.
Some of you, having read the above, may think that this review is negative. This is wrong. We quite enjoyed our holiday. Rest - don't work. We understood what country we were flying to and what level of service we would have to face. We flew for the sun and sea. And it was amazing. But the hotel administration has nothing to do with this... I also want to note that they steal at the hotel. They steal directly from safes (!!!). A married couple with two children, who were vacationing at the same time as us, had (according to them) almost $1,000 taken from their safe. When dealing with the police and the hotel guide, it turned out that this was not the first case at this hotel. They didn't get their money back. Draw conclusions. And take some protective measures if you are carrying a significant amount of cash with you. Enjoy your stay at the Iberotel Club Fanara.
