Landmarks of danang, central vietnam. Da Nang attractions and tours Where to stay in Da Nang

We have combined Hoi An, Hue and Da Nang in one article, because these cities are located in Central Vietnam and most likely, if you decide, for example, to visit Hue, then Da Nang will also interest you. Also, these cities are usually visited by those who do not have enough beach holidays in Vietnam, who are interested in the history of the country, want to see the architectural monuments preserved from ancient times.

We can say that visiting these cities will be interesting, both as part of a tour, for example from Nha Trang, and for independent travelers.

Hoain is a city that is enough to spend one day, but it is important that you see it in the evening. This cozy city in every sense is very romantic. in the evening everything shines in lanterns, the shapes and colors of which are very different.

Every street and house in Hoi An is of interest, because the city was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. You have a unique opportunity to walk along the streets and roads that are hundreds of years old.

You can visit the beach, which is next to the city, which can be reached by bike. In general, cycling is a popular mode of transport in Hoi An, and the traffic here is more relaxed than in other cities in Vietnam.

Be sure to visit Hoi An Market, not only is it a place where you can buy fruit or taste real Vietnamese food, but it is also a popular place for a stroll. Near the market there are boats on which you can ride on the river.

Our rating of Hoi An is 5/5, but it is advisable to see it not only during the day, but also in the evening, if only for the sake of the romantic atmosphere that will surround you. True, modern music from numerous cafes will also be heard on the street.

Attractions Da Nang

Da Nang - The largest city Vietnam, which is second only to the cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh. This is a city where tourists rarely come, vacationing in Vietnam on tour packages, but rather here you can meet independent travelers who explore the country and its cities.

Nevertheless, Da Nang has everything to please the tourist. There are numerous cafes and hotels, a beautiful promenade along which locals like to walk in the evening.

The embankment itself is notable for the fact that unobtrusive background music plays here in the evening, along the embankment there are many benches on which you can admire the beautiful bridges of Da Nang. It's really relaxing.

Hai Van Pass

Another attraction for travelers who do not have enough beach holidays. It is better to get here by rented transport, then you will have a lot of time to enjoy the greatness of the nature of Vietnam, return to the time when there was a war in Vietnam and see the destruction that it brings.

The pass itself, in addition to excellent landscapes and dangerous road includes a small tourist stop where you can buy souvenirs, drink tea.

In our opinion, if you drive a motorcycle well, then it is better to rent it in Da Nang and go to the pass using Google maps.

But if you're up for more calm journey, then you can buy an open-top jeep tour. There will be no less impressions from the trip, but the trip will be safer. Also, a guided tour will be more informative, because you will most likely be told about the climatic features of the Hai Van pass, as well as its significance during the war.

Hue Imperial Citadel

This is a must-see attraction in Hue, which is located in the heart of the city. Allocate about 4 hours to visit the citadel, take water with you, a hat from the heat.

The citadel is sometimes called a city within a city, and during a walk here you can see this more than once. Numerous palaces and halls in which the emperor and his servants lived, some of the complexes have been preserved in good condition, but most of the buildings are still under reconstruction.

Walking here should be enjoyable, but If you walk around the territory of the complex, then most likely you will get very tired. Tombs of the Hue emperors

Another attraction of Hue are the tombs of the emperors of the Nguyen Dynasty (Nguyen). There are several of them and each of them is a whole architectural complex, including beautiful parks, ponds, buildings in which some of the emperors worked during their lifetime.

One of the most beautiful and largest is considered Emperor Ming Mang's tomb(Tomb of Minh Mang). Indeed, walking in the park does not leave a feeling of peace and tranquility. The emperor himself had 150 children, but this is not the only thing he is remembered for.

How to get there

It is better to combine a trip here with a visit to other tombs, and to make it more interesting, it is better to study the history of each tomb in advance or buy a guided tour.

(Tomb of Tu Duc), also surrounded by a beautiful park, here you can take a leisurely walk, look at the buildings that are located on the territory of the tomb.

How to get there

By the way, the emperor himself was buried elsewhere. Perhaps this is due to the fact that Ty Duc led a policy that was not very popular with the population. History is silent about the place of the new burial and the reasons.

As part of the tour of the tombs of the emperors of Vietnam, worth a visit tomb of Emperor Khai Dinh(Khai Dinh). Its peculiarity is the style of architecture that distinguishes it from other tombs, as well as the location of the tomb on a hill, so that you will have a beautiful view.

How to get there

A general recommendation for visiting the tombs on your own. In one day it is quite possible to see all the tombs described in the article, less likely you will not have time or get very tired. marble mountains

There are mountains between Da Nang and Hoi An. They are formed from five hills of stone origin. Many years ago, the entire surrounding area was in a flooded state, and the hills served as islands created by nature. Each of the hills is represented by one of the five parts of the universe and have their own names. Over time, caves formed inside, next to which ancient people built temples and shrines. Hill Thuishom and today is considered the most popular place at the pilgrims. Many caves are so dark that you should take a lantern with you to coordinate inside, and also not to stumble upon bats, of which there are an unmeasured number inside.

You can visit each of the caves for a nominal fee. Near the entrance, you will also be offered to purchase a map of the area and a set of pictures with images of mountain beauties. At the very base of the mountain there are two villages that have become famous for their artisans. One of them, Non Nuoc, is replete with shops with figurines, figurines of deities and ceramic dishes. Any tourist will definitely appreciate it, because you can hardly find such a quantity of ceramics and souvenirs anywhere. The prices in the shops are not the highest, and you can even bargain for a lower price. If you decide to purchase large sculpture, then right on the spot you can arrange delivery to anywhere in the world.

You can get to the Marble Mountains if you purchase sightseeing tour at any agency in the city. But it's best to go on your own. It is much more interesting, informative and cheaper. The city has not yet been spoiled by the attention of tourists, as it is still considered a port.

In Da Nang itself, there are no sights, two and a few. From what is in the city, I can single out da nang museum, Ho Chi Minh Museum And museum of Cham culture. We managed to visit only the latter, but by the time we arrived at the Da Nang Museum, it had already closed.

Da Nang Museum or Local History Museum

Cham Museum in Da Nang located near the Dragon Bridge (near its tail). Among the exhibits of the museum you can see altars, lingas, images of Brahma, Shiva and Vishnu, carved from sandstone. It is in this museum that the largest collection of Cham culture is located. Most of the exhibits from the capital of the Tyampov (Chamov) empire - Michon and Buddhist center Chamov - Dong Duong, which is located 20 km south of My Son. The ticket price is 40,000 VND (a little less than $2).

Museum of Cham culture

Modern sights include, of which there are nine in the city. Each bridge has its own uniqueness.

The most unusual of them

  • Dragon Bridge, whose design is made in the form of a giant dragon wrapping around the bridge (see photo above);
  • Chan Ti Li Bridge or Sail, whose height is over 700 meters, and its shape resembles a mountain or an isosceles triangle;
  • Bridge over the Han River(they didn't bother with the name). Every weekend at midnight the bridge is raised for ships and boats;
  • Tuan Phuoc Bridge reminiscent of the Golden Gate in San Francisco.

The city has a very beautiful embankment with a wide sidewalk (compared to Nha Trang and Mui Ne), which is a pleasure to walk along. For me, time always flies unnoticed and you can go a lot without feeling tired. The embankment is decorated with beautiful marble sculptures.

In the evening, the city is transformed. Everything is illuminated and Da Nang sparkles with all the colors of the rainbow. The Vietnamese obviously do not spare funds for lighting. By the way, they do this not only for tourists, but, for the most part, for residents of the city.

Da Nang Square

Da Nang, like Singapore, has its own merlion. Actually this dragon fish. In Asia, koi are very common (you can find them in almost every pond). It is them who are fed from a baby bottle at the Yang Bay waterfalls. There is a legend that every self-respecting carp dreams of becoming a dragon all his life. When he grows up a little and gains wisdom, he gets to the magical river and swims against the current. Underwater sharp stones, shoals, whirlpools and rapids lie in wait for him on this dangerous path. If his spirit is not broken and he overcomes all difficulties, the so-called dragon gates will soon open before him: jumping over them, he will turn into a dragon - big, brave, wise and immortal. At the moment of jumping through the gate, the transformation takes place.

More recently (in 2014) a beautiful amusement parkAsia Park. It is still under construction, but most of its territory is already open to visitors. The Ferris wheel in the park is clearly visible from any bridge.

8 kilometers from the city center (we take the Dragon Bridge as a starting point) are marble mountains where marble is mined to this day and very beautiful sculptures are made.

Outside the city, towards Hue, there is observation deckHai Van Pass, which overlooks the coast, surrounded by mountains. locals love this place for romantic evenings.

If you come to Da Nang for a few days, I would highly advise you to visit the mountain. Unfortunately, the weather was not favorable and we did not visit it. Probably, our whole trip began because of this mountain. Once I saw nice pictures on Instagram and realized that I simply had to be here. Firstly, the mountain can be reached by cable car (one of the 10 longest cable cars in the world). Now the price on the official website of Ba Na Hills is VND 550,000 round trip per adult. Secondly, on the mountain there is a beautiful castle, an amusement park, the oldest wine cellar (working since the 1950s) and, of course, Buddha statues and pagodas. Mount Ba Na was founded in 1919 by the French colonialists and this has left a significant mark to this day. In a word, you should definitely visit the mountain. For myself, I just increased the priority for this attraction on my next trip to Vietnam

If you also have a strong desire to explore the mountain, you will first need to get to the cable car, which is located 20-25 km from Da Nang. I did not find any buses going to the cable car, so I advise you to use a taxi (negotiate for a fixed amount) or on a rented bike. The Vietnamese word for cable car is "cap treo" or "cap cheo". So you can tell taxi drivers what you need at Ba Na Hills Cap Cheo. Then buy a ticket and enjoy the views of the mountains and Da Nang from a bird's eye view.

Ruins of Michon- the farthest attraction of Da Nang, located 50 km from the city. Closest to the ruins is Hoi An. Michon - temple complex the Champa empire. It is often compared to the Angkor Wat complex in Cambodia, but the size of the Vietnamese complex is very modest. During the Vietnam-American War, the complex was practically razed to the ground, most of the buildings were badly damaged and now it is a pile of stones overgrown with grass. This was the main reason why we did not go to Michon. And given the fact that on our account the Ponagar tower in Nha Trang, the Poklongorai tower in Phan Rang and the Poshanu Cham towers in Phan Rang / Mui Ne, it was decided not to waste time visiting the ruins in Da Nang.

How to get to Da Nang?

Da Nang has international Airport, which can be reached by direct flight from Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Cambodia and South Korea. As for Vietnamese cities, flights here are operated from, Haiphong and other cities.

Since Vietnam has a fairly well-developed bus service, it will be enough to choose only a carrier. Sleeping buses are very popular in the country, where you ride reclining. In this position, a distance of several hundred kilometers will be much more convenient to overcome than sitting.

You can also get to Da Nang from neighboring cities by bike. For example, Hoi An is only 25-30 km away, and Hue is 100 km from the city.

Choose the most comfortable and convenient type of transportation for you and go ahead to meet new impressions and unforgettable emotions.
