The most beautiful beaches of Fukuoka. Phu Quoc - full review of all places

Phu Quoc is amazing beautiful island in the very south of Vietnam, the largest in the country. In the northern part of the island there are mainly mountains and forests, but South part Fukuoka is better known for its beaches.

Soft sand, clear sea and privacy can be found on almost all the beaches of Fukuoka. So which one should you choose for your holiday? The best option- visit them all! I made a short review of the best beaches on Phu Quoc island. Which one will be first on your list is up to you.

Long Beach

Long Beach in Fukuoka

On the west side of Phu Quoc you will find a large beach called Long Beach. It is impossible to drive past it, because this is where most of the hotels and resorts on the island are located. The beach on this side stretches for about 5 km, south of the capital of Fukuoka, Dong Dong. You can relax on any beach. They do not belong to hotels, and no one will kick you out.

Ganh Dau Beach

Gan Dau beach in Fukuoka

This beach is located at the top of the island in the north west coast, if you look at the map of Fukuoka. It is approximately 28 km from Dong Dong. To get to the beach, you need to drive past a Vietnamese village, and you will soon find yourself in a paradise. Silence, tranquility and beauty. There is only one local restaurant on the entire beach, so no one will disturb you from enjoying the sea and peace. By the way, you can eat good seafood in the restaurant.

Bai Sao (Sao Beach)

Bai Sao beach in Fukuoka

On the eastern side of Phu Quoc Island is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Getting to it is a little more difficult than getting to Long Beach. It is best to navigate by map or take a taxi. There are practically no signs on the roads of Fukuoka. Bai Sao is a rather secluded place. There are only a few restaurants and guest houses there, but they are located quite far from each other. If you're looking for a party, Long Beach is the place to go.

Cua Can

Cua Kan beach in Fukuoka

This Fukuoka beach is not very well known among tourists, although it is located only 8 km north of the city. Duong Dong on the west coast of the island fishing village. You can get there by boat or ride across rickety wooden bridges on a bike. The car won't go there.

Bai Thom

Bai Thom beach in Phu Quoc

This Phu Quoc beach may not be as beautiful as Bai Sao, but it has its own unique charm. In addition, there you can have a nude photo shoot or make love right under a palm tree. It's not often that you meet someone there. A completely uninhabited place. This beach is located on extreme point northeast of the island, approximately 35 km from Dong Dong. The best way to get there is by bike.

Bai Vong Beach

Bai Wong beach in Fukuoka

Bai Wong is located on east coast Fukuoka is about 8 km from the island's capital, about halfway to Bai Sao Beach. There too White sand and overall very beautiful. Several restaurants serving local Vietnamese cuisine are hidden under the palm trees. They serve wonderful fresh seafood and freshly squeezed juices. It is not difficult to get to Bai Wong by bike.

Take a look. With its help, you can decide which beach of the island to start your voyage from.

In this post I’ll tell you about the best beaches in Fukuoka and make my personal rating of the beaches. Also here you will find tips on choosing a place to come on vacation and a map of Fukuoka beaches in Russian.

Overall, Phu Quoc is a beautiful tropical island, but it has its own quirks. Firstly, tourism here began to develop quite recently and at a very fast pace, because of this, in many places there is construction, dust and dirt. This is no longer a tropical paradise, where you are alone with nature, although in general the ecology is good - there are no industries. Secondly, there is a real problem with garbage and sewage; the Vietnamese seem to have not yet figured out what to do with the influx large quantity people. Yes, if the beach is looked after by the staff of a nearby hotel, it will be simply gorgeous. And if it’s no man’s territory, then all the garbage will be shoveled there.

I think a few years will pass and Phu Quoc will turn into main resort Vietnam (like Phuket in Thailand, where tourism has been developing for a long time). Until that happens, you have the opportunity to enjoy the almost empty beaches of this island. And I’ll tell you which beach to choose in Fukuoka.

Phu Quoc's best beaches are mainly located on its western, northern and northwestern sides, but there are two gorgeous spots worth visiting on the east coast. These are the small beaches of Sao and Kem. They are small, but very picturesque!

Sao Beach

A cozy bay about one and a half kilometers long with incredibly white sand, fine as flour. There are truly heavenly landscapes here, curved palm trees on the shore, mountains around, covered with tropical forest...

Bai Sao is considered the most beautiful beach in Phu Quoc, it is business card islands. All the more surprising are the piles of garbage that are found in some places along the beach. Apparently, the winds and currents here are such that garbage washes ashore in certain seasons.

Plus add to this the crowds of people who come on their own or on an excursion, jet skis, bananas and all the attributes of a popular beach. So don’t expect a straight bounty from Sao Beach. The best part of it is on the left side at the very edge of the bay.

The entrance to the water is gentle, but there are small waves, but the water is very warm - the kids will love it. On the shore there are several beach cafes with inflated prices (it is better to buy food in advance at the store located at the turn from the main road to the beach), toilet, shower, you can rent sun loungers and an umbrella (100 thousand dong). It’s better to arrive in the morning: firstly, it’s not hot, and secondly, the tourists haven’t arrived yet :)

There are no hotels on the first line on Bai Sao, everything is a little further inland, but I don’t recommend spending a vacation here either.

Bai Kem

Bai Kem Beach is located just south of Bai Sao and is a bay a little long less than a kilometer. There is now active construction of luxury hotels with all the ensuing consequences; getting to the beach is not so easy (according to latest reviews Now only guests of hotels on the shore can access the beach).

In general, Bai Kem has the same white sand, the same picturesque palm trees on the shore, but there are no people. But all this beauty is available only to hotel guests. In the meantime, while active construction is underway, I do not recommend settling there. even if there is such a possibility.

Long Beach

Long Beach is the most developed beach in Fukuoka. Its length is about 20 kilometers, so everyone will find a place for themselves. The part north of the airport and up to the city of Duong Dong is more developed, along the road there you will find all the tourism infrastructure in the form of cafes, restaurants, travel agencies, ATMs, hotels. Part south of the airport It is just under construction, and although luxury hotels with large territories have already appeared there, otherwise you will be on the outskirts with the accompanying construction landscape.

Long Beach has medium-sized golden sand, a gentle entrance to the water (a little sharper in some places), the purity of the sea water depends on the waves and weather. During the calm there was clear water here.

Unfortunately, in some places there is garbage and the sewage flows straight into the sea.

The advantage of Long Beach is its proximity to the city of Duong Dong, where there are night market, a fish market and several temples. And in general, it’s interesting to look at the life of a small Vietnamese town. But you should still choose a hotel a little further from the city, nice beach starts from Saigon Phu Quoc Resort& Spa and further south.

Long Beach

In my opinion, Long Beach is the best beach in Phu Quoc for a vacation. Yes, it may be a little less picturesque than Bai Sao or Ong Lang, but it’s still quite cozy. Plus, the developed infrastructure compensates for some of the disadvantages. You can easily find a bungalow on the first line and enjoy your vacation.

Ong Lang Beach

A cool long beach north of the town of Duong Dong, it can be divided into several sections, with rocky capes between them. Here is perhaps the most pure water, which we encountered on all the beaches of Fukuoka.

Ong Lang has fine light sand, which is pleasant to walk on. The most picturesque section of the beach is located near the Coco Hotel Palm Beach Resort & Spa.

The big advantage of this beach is the almost complete absence of tourists; there are also many cool hotels on the first line, all of the bungalow type. A chic place for newlyweds and lovers of tranquility!

The infrastructure is quite poorly developed, a little further in towards the main road you will find cafes and restaurants, but otherwise the place is village-like and quiet.

Cua Can Beach

The beach is located next to the river of the same name, which flows into the sea. Rafting on the Cua Can River is a popular activity among tourists.

The beach is almost wild, there are no tourists, only a few local residents. Nearby there are some creeks and estuaries, and a small community lives. It might be a little dirty. There are only a couple of hotels in the surrounding area, and a few cafes along the way from the main road. Suitable for those who like complete privacy :)

Vung Bau Beach

The southern part of the bay can only be accessed through the territory of some hotel; we were in the northern part, the one closer to the cape.

Clean and remote beach, quite picturesque. Coastline narrow, almost no people, only those who came here specifically by bike or taxi, and a few guests of local bungalows. The entrance to the water is gentle, the water is very clean and transparent, there are sun loungers and a tire on a rope instead of a swing :)

There are several bungalow hotels on Vung Bau, all on the first line. You can only eat in the hotel cafes.

The chic beach of the five-star Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc. This hotel - the whole city with many buildings, villas, bungalows, swimming pools, golf courses, spas, gyms, a huge green, well-groomed area with tuk-tuks running through it. The Vinpearl Land amusement park is nearby and the hotel also provides free airport transfers.

Bai Dai Beach

Bai Dai Beach has fine yellow sand, the entrance to the water is gentle, and the sea is very clean, which is why a holiday here is ideal for families with children.

Gan Dau

The village of Gan Dau is located in the extreme north-west of Phu Quoc, from here it is literally a few kilometers to the Cambodian islands, they are clearly visible from the shore.

On the western side there is a beautiful but dirty beach with cafes on the shore and many boats in the water. Mostly locals eat here.

If you drive through the village (on the way you will pass a rather smelly fish market) and go to the northern coast near the Peppercorn Hotel Beach resort, then there will be a nice beach there. During our visit, the water was not very clear, but there was almost no one there.

Pacification

Phu Quoc starfish beach

The beach near the village of Rat Vem is also called the beach with starfish. One of the best beaches in Fukuoka and well worth the trip. It is known primarily for its marine life, with which you can take a memorable photo.

And you can sunbathe here, white sand, clean water and a gentle entrance to the sea are good attributes and help in this matter. I recommend going only in the high season (from November to April); according to reviews, at other times there is a lot of algae and garbage that no one cleans up, plus the dirt road washes out after rain. Also, move as far to the right as possible, there are fewer people there and a better chance of seeing starfish.

There is a restaurant on a wooden platform over the water with inflated prices, no more infrastructure.

Bai Dai Beach is considered the most beautiful. This is confirmed by the assessment of the famous publication CNN Travel News, which in 2013 placed this beach in 93rd place in the “Best Beaches in the World” ranking.

General information about the beach

Bai Dai beach is located on the northwestern coast of the island, framed by two beaches - Ganh Dau beach from the north, Vung Bau beach from the south. Its total length is about 15 km.

Until recently, this long stretch of beach with fine sand and turquoise water had plenty of secluded places to relax.

Beach near Vinpearl Phu Quoc

The situation changed dramatically when the Vinperl complex opened here in 2014, after a massive construction project, which is now mostly built. The complex includes: Vinperl hotels, a water park, an aquarium, a golf course, a casino, and a safari park.

Vinpearlland aquarium

The beach, like the entire west coast, is covered with fine yellow sand. The entrance to the water is gentle, the current is small, the sea is warm. All this encourages families with children to relax on the beach.

Another unforgettable experience that you can take away from the beaches of the west coast is the views of stunning sunsets.

Not far from the beach is Turtle Island. It is visible to the naked eye. The island is popular among snorkelers, divers and fishing enthusiasts.

Diving. Phu Quoc

Beaches of Phu Quoc Island:

Bai Sao - a paradise beach in Phu Quoc?

Do you dream of heaven on earth and the travel agency told you that it is in Bai Sao? Don’t be fooled - the beach is cool, but it’s completely bounty. Many people call it the best beach on Phu Quoc Island and in all of Vietnam, but we don’t think so.

Tourists are brought to the center of the beach. These are mainly Vietnamese and Chinese - social creatures, there they all flounder in the water in one heap.

To the right, towards the stones, there is an almost deserted beach, and it is no longer so clean. Only single couples wander here. The left side is more populated: there are cafes, hotels, and they sell fruit. Near the Paradiso restaurant there are slender palm trees leaning towards the water. Most of the Chinese live here: who would miss a photo shoot in flowing chiffon dresses on a romantic swing?

But even on the “best” beach in Vietnam you will see a landfill. The Vietnamese don't pay attention to trash. Why export? We just throw it into the bushes.

We were very lucky: on the beach we did not find an abundance of sun loungers, inflatable trampolines, jet skis, boats and other activities. They never understood why they weren’t there, because they wrote something else on the Internet. Get away from tourists, it will be quiet. But garbage! Overall, I liked the beach, but I was left with a feeling of disappointment after the visit. We did not return to Bai Sao again and we cannot call it the best beach in Fukuoka.

But enough about the negatives. Here are the advantages of the beach: clear water, fine white sand, very gentle entrance (good for small children), picturesque nature, almost privacy, there are rudiments of infrastructure (resorts, cafes and restaurants, paid showers and even a free toilet).

How to get there. A taxi costs 300-400,000 VND, but it’s cheaper and more interesting to rent a bike (150,000 VND per day). There are also excursions. The distance from the main beach of Long Beach is approximately 25 km.

So, you went to the beach. There are two roads leading to Bai Sao: one to the south of the beach (behind the stones) - and here is a real landfill. The other goes to the civilized part. Both roads are concreted. The second one is very narrow, people can barely drive it around. The result is traffic jams. The Vietnamese, in their favorite manner, simply did not finish the last section of the road, 500 meters long.

Hotels on Bai Sao Beach

There are resorts and guesthouses on Bai Sao beach, but for some reason they are not listed in online booking systems. On Roomguru.ru we found only My Lan Guesthouse and The Beach House An Thoi (right by the sea) - such things. And on Booking.com there are hotels further away - Phu Nam House and Hanh Mai Hotel.

Long Beach is the most comfortable beach in Fukuoka

Convenience lovers will love Long Beach. Probably 95% of the hotels on the entire island are located along the beach! You can find food without getting up from your sunbed - or rather, it will find you itself. In addition to hawkers, there are many cafes both on the beach and along the road.

Many people criticize the beach - they say it is dirty and noisy. We didn't observe anything like that. Let's put it this way: the beach is very ordinary, it doesn't evoke any emotions. Yellow sand, clear water. There are no waves, the approach is gentle.

Minuses: Although the beach is municipal, some hotels do not allow you to set up on their territory - they drive you away. Plus there is little shade, and the beach strip is very narrow. There are few civilized outlets to the sea - you need to either go around, or fight, or secretly pass through resorts (but almost always security will prevent you). As you can see, there are a lot of inconveniences - this beach cannot be called the best in Fukuoka either.

Hotels on Long Beach in Fukuoka

Long Beach has such a variety of hotels and resorts that it is difficult to choose. Many tours are sold specifically to hotels on Long Beach.

  • The Hill Resort 3*. Nice new hotel. There is a swimming pool, breakfast, quiet. Price - $40.
  • Miana Resort 2*. Garden hotel. The best of all where we lived in Fukuoka. Cozy bungalows surrounded by flowers. Open bathroom, large swimming pool, royal breakfasts. Price - $42.
  • Cozy Resort. Spacious bungalows surrounded by plants. There is no pool. Price - $25.
  • Sailing Hotel 2*. Cozy bed and breakfast with 70's style rooms. Price - $25.

Rush Vem is the most beautiful beach in Fukuoka!

Bãi Rạch Vẹm- this is a beach with starfish, of which there are countless numbers. This is what we consider the most beautiful and impressive beach in Fukuoka, this is the best beach on the island! The sand here is unusually white and fine. We were stunned by such beauty and constantly photographed the beach.

Rush Vem is more suitable for admiring nature and watching starfish than for beach holiday in the traditional sense. There is no infrastructure here, except for one seafood restaurant on the water. The area of the beach suitable for recreation is narrow and small. The sea is shallow. There is almost no shade - only 4-5 gazebos and one canopy (former cafe). Therefore there are very few people!

We would probably give the title of paradise beach to Rush Vem. Just don't go to the left side so as not to be disappointed :)

There are many advantages. Here are the cons: approximately 5 km to the beach - dusty and bumpy dirt road. There is no infrastructure! For inexpensive food you have to go to the highway - take some food with you.

Where is it located and how to get there. You can get to the starfish beach in Phu Quoc by taxi or bike along the highway to the north of the island - use MAPS.ME for navigation. Don't miss the huge sign with a photo of the beach. A valiant Vietnamese woman stands nearby and sends everyone to the beach. If you go straight, you will find yourself in a picturesque fishing village floating village, which we also recommend visiting.

Bai Thom

Bãi Thơm- another beach with starfish in Fukuoka. It is not at all as impressive as Rush Vem, and is almost not suitable for swimming. The sand is yellow. At low tide you can see marine life: shellfish, starfish, crabs, and some corals. There is no infrastructure, except for a cafe. Come to that section of the beach near the island - the other parts are terrible.

Bai Khem

To the beach Bãi Khem There are two roads: one through the luxurious Marriott 5* hotel, where only guests are allowed, the other through the forest. Only locals come here. When we were on the beach, a cheerful group of Vietnamese were walking around, there were many children.

The beach is not equipped, there is nowhere to spread a towel. The sand is normal yellow. A lot of trash. But the section of the beach near the hotel is well-maintained and clean - after all, it’s a five-star resort!

Duong Dong Beach

This beach is located near the lighthouse. We do not recommend swimming here - there is a port nearby. Although the locals do not disdain. People come to the pier to eat and watch the sunset.

I am sure that all those who leave for Vietnam from the harsh Russian winters will not only spend all their time viewing and exploring local attractions, but will also want to bask in the sun and swim in the sea on best beaches Phu Quoc.

And for those who have already been to this island or are just planning to go, I have written below short review, in my opinion, all the main beaches.

You can choose a hotel for yourself using an excellent service; it searches for hotels using all major booking systems, such as Booking, Agoda, Hotels, etc. and will immediately give you the cost of the hotel in these systems. I also wrote a review about .

#1: Beach Long Beach(Long Beach)

It is located on the western coast of the island washed by the Gulf of Thailand. Since he is on southwest coast, then from it you will, of course, be able to watch beautiful sunsets, as the sun not only sets below the horizon, but seems to fall into the sea.

The beach extends from Duong Dong and stretches south for almost twenty kilometers. The sand has a yellow tint and is bordered by a grassy edge of the shore, along which rows of coconut palms grow.

The central and northern part is the most best place for relax. There are numerous hotels, cafes and bars along the entire road leading to Duong Dong, where you can have a delicious lunch and a glass of wine. Clean beach, there are a lot of sunbeds, compared to Thailand, it is not crowded here.

The southernmost part of the beach is mostly deserted, with lonely fishing shacks made from palm leaves located in the distance. Little by little, construction is increasingly covering its southern part. So, soon there will be hotels and other developed infrastructure here too.

Bai Sao is not inferior to Long Beach in its significance and beauty. Its length is about two kilometers, and it is located in the southern part of the island, 25 kilometers from the capital Duong Dong. Bai Sao is a fairly secluded beach with soft and white sand - one of the few on the island.

You can not only passively tan on it, but if you prefer whiter leisure, then here you can rent a jet ski, go scrolling or just ride a banana. Also near the beach there are several hotels and restaurants that offer European, Vietnamese or Russian dishes.

Here in the ocean you can see starfish, and if you're lucky, small squid. In the northernmost and southernmost areas of the island, there are places where you will find corals.

Adviсe:

  • From May to October the sea in this place is calm, as the winds go to the western part of the island. And from October to May the sea will be rough, especially in the middle of the day.
  • Bai Sao is a popular beach and can be crowded at times. But if you are looking for solitude and peace, then come to it either early in the morning or in the evening to admire the amazing sunset.

Bai Ong Lang is located on the west coast of Phu Quoc. It is located between the town of Ganh Dau and Duong Dong. Bai Ong Lang is not continuous, but consists of a series of small sandy beaches separated by ridges of stones.

All recreational areas at the resorts are well maintained and regularly cleaned of debris that washes up on the shore. This is a wonderful quiet place, not crowded with tourists, beautiful white sand, with crystal clear water.

There are no shops on this one, so it’s best to buy everything you need in advance and bring it with you. But if you want to drink cocktails or beer, you will find a bar or restaurant next to the hotel. If you are not satisfied with the food here, you can always go to Duong Dong, which is located a 15-minute drive from the beach.

Sometimes a seller walks along the beach and offers to buy you fresh pineapple, mango or watermelon. Sun loungers on this beach can be rented and cost about 50 (VND) VND per day.

#4: Beach Bai Ahem(Bai Khem Beach)

Bai Khem (also known as Kem Beach, Bai Khem, Bai Khem, and also called “Cream Beach”) is another white sandy beach Phu Quoc, located on the southeast coast south of An Thoi Town, 24 kilometers from Duong Dong.

Bai Khem is a beautiful crescent-shaped beach. Wet white powdery sand creaks pleasantly underfoot. The sea here is calm with a greenish-blue tint. In connection with which it received the name – Emerald Bay.

Although the beach itself is not as large as Long Beach or Bai Sao, it also attracts tourists with its romantic scenery. A fishing village is cozy next to the beach.

There are also bars and restaurants on Khem Beach that offer freshly prepared seafood. By visiting this place, you can buy fresh shrimp, oysters or snails that have just been caught directly from the fishing boats, and then take them to the restaurant, where they will be prepared for you on the spot according to the recipe you have chosen.

Vung Bao is located in the northwest of Phu Quoc Island between Cua Bi Beach in the south and Bai Dai Beach in the north. It offers an excellent view of neighboring island Hong Mong Tai, it has a good place for swimming, as well as for fishing and scrolling.

The sand on the beach is dark yellow and it is relatively clean. During the high season, the sea is calm and the water takes on different shades of blue. The southernmost part of the beach is completely deserted.

Swimming with a mask, you can see a starfish, a shell and, if you're lucky, sea urchins, but be careful not to touch them.

If you like active recreation, then here you can rent a kayak to sail to the nearest Fingernail Island.
