Documents for obtaining a Schengen visa to Italy:

Starting September 14, 2015, citizens of the Russian Federation who are applying for a Schengen visa must submit their biometric parameters (fingerprints of both hands and digital photographs). The presence of biometrics is a prerequisite for obtaining a visa to the Schengen countries for all applicants, except for children in under 12 years old and people without physical ability to provide fingerprints.

Deadline for visa documents: not less than 10 working days before the trip.

Attention!
We draw your attention to the fact that the Italian Consulate does not accept the originals of St. birth, consent to leave, St. marriage, etc. We ask you to provide ONLY notarized copies. We kindly request not to provide:
1.   Extra copies of the pages of the internal passport.
2.   Certificate of purchase of currency. Since July 2003, the Italian Consulate has not accepted this document for consideration.
For obtaining an Italian visa, this center can be applied to residents of territories falling within the competence of the Consulate General of Italy in Moscow, while residents of the Republic of Karelia, residents of the Arkhangelsk, Leningrad, Murmansk, Novgorod, Pskov and Vologda regions and St. Petersburg must apply to the General Consulate of Italy in St. Petersburg.

2. Photo  - 2 pcs 35mm X 45mm color, made no more than 3 months. back;
3. Photocopy of the internal passport  - only two pages are required, with a photo and registration (in the passport it is 2,3,4 and 5 pages);
4. Certificate of employment  - Mandatory on letterhead with the full details of the company, a live seal, indicating the position and average monthly income (at least 27,000 thousand / month). Be sure to include a business phone number with area code.
5. Questionnaire -information is filled out in print or in block letters, all items.

6. Application form of the Consulate of Italy  - do not fill out, put only signatures in paragraphs: 37 - p. 3 and the last on p. 4. Both parents sign for a minor child!
7. Additional financial guarantees required- A bank account statement is required for each tourist (upon reaching the age of 18) at the rate of 60 euros per day of arrival.

Additional documents:
For pensioners: a copy of the pension certificate and the original bank statement on the bank’s letterhead with a seal, or a sponsorship application (see below) and a certificate of employment (see below) of the sponsor.
For minor children (up to 18 years old):a notarized copy of the birth certificate not older than 1 month. If the child is traveling without parents, or with only one, a copy of a notarized consent (sure more) and a sponsorship application and a certificate from the sponsor’s place of work are required.
For students:  A certificate from the school with the address, telephone and stamp of the school.
For students:  A photocopy of the student card and a certificate from the dean’s office, signed by the head of the educational institution.
For not working tourists:  bank statement.

Additional questions and clarifications:
In consent to the departure of a minor: phrase ... departure to the countries of the Schengen Agreement, including Italy, travel dates must be indicated with exact dates for any period, including the duration of stay in Italy, but not more than 3 months. The permit must be signed no earlier than 3 weeks before the day the documents are submitted to the Consulate. A photocopy of the first two pages of the Russian civil passport of the parent giving its consent is required. In the consent of the parents, the signatures must necessarily coincide with the signatures in the passports of the parents! If the surname of the parent in the exit permit does not coincide with the surname in the birth certificate, you must provide documents confirming the change of surname (notarized copies). If one of the parents or both parents or an accompanying person have a visa to the Schengen countries and go abroad with the child, you must provide a copy of the first page of the OZP and a copy of the visa page.). A notarized copy of the consent to leave the child is not returned and remains at the Consulate of Italy. To travel abroad, you must have the ORIGINAL consent.
*Attention!!!  The consent must include the telephone number and address of the notary. In the absence of data, the consulate will not accept documents for consideration !!!

Sponsorship application:
In cases of small tourist salaries, as well as for pensioners (if there is no personal savings), schoolchildren, students, housewives, a sponsorship order is required, handwritten  on a separate sheet and necessarily compiled according to the following sample: “I, full name, fully pay all expenses associated with the acquisition and stay of the trip (indicate the relationship to the tourist and full name of the tourist) in the Schengen countries, including Italy”   with the number and signature of the sponsor. Be sure to attach a certificate from the work of the sponsor, a bank statement.

*IMPORTANT!  It is necessary to attach a sponsorship letter, proof of sponsor income (the original certificate of employment and bank statements), notarized copy of a document confirming direct relationship  and a copy of 1 page of the RF passport of the sponsor. Spouses in a civil marriage - do not have the right to sponsor each other!

Help from work:  Validity - 1 month, must be the date of issue. The certificate of employment should be on letterhead with the full details of the company and the actual address. Mandatory position and average monthly income. Be sure to specify a work phone with a city code! The phrases from which number a person works in the company and for how long he is granted leave are not obligatory, but their presence is not forbidden.
For private entrepreneurs  it is necessary to provide a copy of the Certificate of Entry into the Unified State Register and a copy of the Certificate of Registration with the Tax Authority. Financial guarantees - bank statement. (in the absence of funds in the account, purchase (provide the originals) - Travel checks for the amount of € 60 per day stay).
For employees of private entrepreneurs, in addition to a certificate of position and income, you must provide a copy of "Certificate of entry into the Unified State Register" and a copy of "Certificate of registration with the Tax Authority."
In the presence of a second valid passport  the tourist must present it, or proof of its cancellation. The consulate allows only 1 valid passport for the Schengen countries, the 2nd passport must bear the stamp "not for Schengen". In case of concealment of information about the 2nd valid passport, its non-provision, a visa denial is likely. You must also provide a canceled salary, or the original certificate stating that the passport is invalid from the authority that canceled the passport, or a photocopy of the cancellation note in the general passport (last page).
Single mother: in case of death of the parents (parent) or if the child has a single mother, it is necessary to provide copies of notarized documents, a document confirming this fact (death certificate, or single mother’s book + birth certificate Form 25, which is issued at the registry office, or a certificate from the social security authority). In cases of a missing parent, only a court decision is made.

!!! In the event that the last time you received an Italian visa, you entered through another Schengen country (for example: you flew in transit through Munich), then you need to provide a hotel voucher or ticket roots to confirm your stay in Italy. Otherwise, you may have problems getting a visa.
