Is it possible to transport food by plane. Is it possible to carry chocolate in hand luggage? If justification is required

Is it possible to carry products in the baggage of an airplane?  - Naturally, it is possible to transport products in the baggage of an airplane. But, there are many different but. For example, when flying in one country, then they are easily allowed to pack bags or suitcases with food, but in such quantities that they are allowed by the rules of carriers. Therefore, you need to check with the airlines, in what quantity and what is allowed to take in luggage. There is a small nuance. All grocery products must be packed in their original packaging.

But is it possible to carry products in the baggage of an airplanewhen flying from one country to another ?. There will already be a number of difficulties. For example, many European countries do not allow to bring any kind of milk and meat products to themselves. There are even a number of countries that do not allow to bring fruit products and berries. Customs officers can easily keep out with them.

All countries are simply impossible to list where and what are the norms for the transportation of products in the luggage compartment. Therefore, it is better to specify earlier for the specific country in which you are going to fly. Usually, the rules in these countries have been working for many years and it is enough to find out once to fly without obstacles later.

But if you think that some customs officials may not allow you to carry groceries, then I dare to assure you this is not so. The airline can also easily prohibit the transport of grocery products, for example, when the products will emit an incredibly unbearable smell. To do this, it is better to carefully pack them in polyethylene, so as not to create a problem for anyone.

And so, in fact, in the middle of the countries, you can at least stuff a suitcase to stuff fat and fly yourself calmly. In the middle of the countries, it’s generally allowed to carry any groceries in the trunk of an airplane.

Look, find out in any country in advance what is allowed to transport and what is prohibited. Read the customs rules of those countries that you are going to visit, everything is clearly described there. In general, I certainly do not understand why to carry food in the luggage of the plane. Well, maybe from Uzbekistan there are sweet melons.

The requirements for food transportation are different for each airline. What is permitted and what cannot be taken on an airplane depends in many respects on the country to which the flight is made. Many people ask the question: is it possible to take food on the plane in hand luggage? There are no food restrictions for flights within Russia. The only thing you need to take into account is the allowable size and weight of bags or backpacks.

If you buy a ticket, for example, at Aeroflot airline, you can take a bag weighing up to 15 kg (if you fly in business class) and up to 10 kg (if you fly in economy class) with you to the cabin. In this case, the sum of the length, height and width of the bag should be less than 115 cm.

What kind of food you decide to take on the plane does not matter. The main thing is not to exceed the permissible weight and dimensions. All edible must be carefully packaged. For example, liquid products have specific packaging requirements. This information must be found out before folding your things on a trip.

The situation is different with the rules for transporting products on international flights. In this case, hand luggage, in particular, food, must comply with the customs requirements established in the country of arrival or in the state in which the transfer is made. When planning such a flight, specify in advance whether it is possible to carry food in hand luggage.

Limitations

As a rule, it is forbidden to bring products without factory packaging with you if at the same time they are classified as epidemiologically dangerous. For example, if the flight is carried out to an EU country, it will not work to transport meat or dairy products. This prohibition is associated with a risk of infection. In America, it is forbidden to transport meat products, eggs, fish, milk, sour cream, cottage cheese, cheese, some vegetables and fruits. Also, the ban is set for fresh caviar (there is no ban on canned).

Some countries have banned the export of certain products. For example, sturgeon caviar cannot be exported from Finland, and sauce called “nam-mum” is prohibited from exported from Vietnam. This sauce in Vietnam is forbidden to take with you, even if you are flying on a domestic flight. Also, in some countries, airlines prohibit the transportation of durian due to the fact that this fruit has a very unpleasant odor.

Upon returning to Russia, it is possible to carry food on a plane in limited quantities. In particular, there is a restriction on meat products. It is allowed to import only up to five kilograms of meat. Moreover, an integral condition is the presence of factory packaging. In Russia and other countries, bans on the import of products that are regulated are periodically in force. Therefore, before packing a bag, it is worthwhile to find out if the time limits for certain products do not apply.

Fish and seafood

If you plan to fly from Russia to another country, it is worth considering that only a limited number of fish and seafood are allowed to be carried on board an aircraft:

  • up to 5 kg of seafood, including fish, but excluding sturgeon caviar;
  • up to 250 g of sturgeon caviar.

It is important to carefully package such products. Caviar belongs to the category of liquid products, therefore it must be packed in accordance with the standards adopted for the transport of liquid on board.

Liquid products can also be taken on board, but the container must not exceed 100 ml

Liquid and bulk products

Many people wonder: is it possible to carry food in hand luggage on the plane, if it is in liquid form? Yes, it’s allowed to take such food to the salon. The following products are liquid:

  • jam, jam, jam;
  • fish roe;
  • pastes;
  • cottage cheese, soft cheeses, sour cream;
  • sauces;
  • oil (any);
  • soups.

If you want to bring any of these products with you, they must be packaged in 100 ml containers. Such containers can be from 1 to 10, but not more (per person). All containers with liquid products must be placed in a transparent bag that fastens.

Coffee in tin cans, cookies, teas are best transported in baggage. It is also recommended that you check in your luggage in hard metal containers. And in soft packaging, you can take food mono on board. If the product has a specific odor, sealed packaging must be used.

Duty free

Food purchased at Duty Free stores may be taken to the salon. They can even be unpacked and on board. However, it is important that such products are in the Duty Free branded package. Some countries prohibit the opening of liquid goods during flights. In particular, if a transfer is provided, then before boarding a second plane you cannot open alcoholic drinks bought in Duty Free.

What kind of food to take with you?

If you think which food is better to take on board, use the following guidelines. As a rule, flights during which passengers are not given lunch do not last long. Therefore, you do not have to take a lot of food with you. It is enough to be limited to a dry ration. Take, for example, several sandwiches (but only first you need to check if there are any products making up the sandwich in the list of prohibited). You can take dried fruits, nuts, chocolate bars. To prevent your ears from taking off during takeoff and landing, take a few candy candies. Also, chewing gum is suitable for these purposes. Since sharp objects, in particular knives, cannot be taken on board, cut the foods you take on board in advance.

In contact with

There are certain prohibitions on the transportation of food products in aircraft cabins. They operate both on international and domestic flights. They must be known to every passenger of the aircraft in order to avoid conflicts when landing on it.

Rules and restrictions: domestic and international flights

As you know, finished products on the plane are not as cheap as we would like. Therefore, tourists try to take with them on a plane trip everything they need for a snack. And there are limitations.

If the traveler does not cross the state border during the flight, the rules of customs prohibitions do not apply to him.

Despite this, there are restrictions on the transportation of products that are established by the airline. Can I take sandwiches? Yes, if they fit easily in hand luggage. She is taken aboard the plane. It can also fit chocolates and other sweets.

The allowable size and weight of hand luggage is set by each airline individually. This nuance must be clarified in advance so that employees at registration do not force to leave half of the collected provisions.

When crossing the state border, customs prohibitions and restrictions apply. What to take from food to the plane in this case? For example, if a traveler flies from Russia to France, when choosing products for transportation, he needs to be guided by the rules for import and export of products established by each of these countries.

As a rule, it is forbidden to transport the following grocery goods on international flights:

  • fish
  • meat;
  • dairy;
  • the eggs.

These foods are considered potentially hazardous because they can cause infectious diseases and epidemics. The ban on their import is due to state security measures.

Liquid products on the plane

Important! It is forbidden to carry any liquid products on board. The exceptions are baby food and water for the child. ➤.

Rules for the transport of products in hand luggage on the plane:

  • total volume does not exceed 1l;
  • in one container should be no more than 100 ml;
  • the total number of such packages is 10 pcs. per passenger.

You can also bring drugs to the plane. Especially if they are intended for children. They must be taken during the flight, and this should be a doctor’s prescription.

There is no ban on dietary products (kefir, yogurt, etc.). When transporting them, you must have a doctor’s certificate with you. It should indicate that these products must be taken by the passenger with a certain time period. For example, every 2 or 3 hours.

Tourists get real pleasure from the fact that they can carry products that were bought in the Duty-free zone on board the aircraft. Drinks from these stores can be taken in unlimited quantities.

It must be remembered that most airlines are not allowed to drink alcohol on board. ➤

List of allowed products

Can I bring food to the plane? Yes, but in limited quantities and certain categories.

You can take food with you if:

  • the product is not included in the list of prohibited customs control;
  • liquid products have maintained the integrity of their packaging, and its volume complies with established rules;
  • the product is not in the airline’s transportation restrictions, and its size allows you to put it in your hand luggage;
  • this is baby food.

You can get acquainted with the rules of transportation of food products on the website of the air carrier.

What to take from food to a plane for yourself and your child

Any kind of baby food is not forbidden to be transported in the cabin. Especially if the flight is long, and the baby needs to eat on the clock.

You can take these products with you:

  • Milk mixture. It can be prepared on board by asking the stewardess for hot water.
  • Jars with baby food. They must be hermetically sealed. It is necessary to purchase such products in specialized stores. In this case, the receipt for its purchase must be saved.
  • Juices (fruit and vegetable). They are also purchased at the store, and the check is kept. He may be asked to show when checking hand luggage.

If the trip will be long, and it has one or two transplants, you can take on board fermented milk products for the baby: kefir, ayran, fermented baked milk and others. They must be properly packed. These rules are established by the airline.

Need to know! Strict requirements for the transportation of baby food are established in China. The border guards of this country will seize everything when leaving the plane.

Such requirements are due to the fact that in this country children over 5 years old are equated with adults. So they can eat the same food as their parents.

More loyal to the transport of baby food in Thailand and Turkey. Border guards can only ask the question: "Is this for the child?"

As for the nutrition of an adult, there are certain limitations. As you know, food on board is not too cheap. It should be a little stock up on provisions so that the long-distance flight was not debilitating for the body.

Prohibited Products:

  • Sandwiches and sandwiches. They must be packaged in cling film.
  • Cookies and snacks. Better if they are without spices.
  • Chocolate.
  • Dried foods. This category does not include meat.

It is also permitted to take fresh fruits and vegetables on board. They should already be chopped. They can be put in a plastic container. It is forbidden to use a knife at the airport and carry it on board the aircraft. To make it easier to transfer the take-off and landing of the aircraft, you can take candy or chewing gum with you.

Which countries can not import products

Some states have banned the import of food products into their territory. These include Sweden, the USA and Finland. It is forbidden to import meat and dairy products into the countries of the European Union. In them, as in other states, an exception applies to all types of baby food.

Important! It is forbidden to bring into the country products for a child that require transportation in the refrigerator.

In each country, bans on the import and export of food products are set depending on the epidemiological situation.

Can I take food on a plane? Yes, but do not transport perishable goods in the cabin. You can take everything you need for a normal snack. The main thing to remember is that all food products must be properly packaged. It is better to ask an employee of the airline or customs control about what can be transported on an airplane.

Many of us fly airplanes on vacation, a business trip to get a job, etc. If you do not fly for a long time, food problems do not arise.

And if the flight is long and not even with one but several transfers? And if you fly by low cost airlines, where you have to pay for tea or juice. Moreover, if you wait for a plane for several hours while transplanting, and the airport buffets offer incredible prices.

Then the question arises: - "Is it possible to take food on a plane?"

I think this question interests not only me, but others will come in handy.

Carry-on baggage

Carry-on baggage  - This is your unchecked baggage, things that you take with you on the plane.

Holders of a ticket to an economy class cabin can take on board 1 seat of their hand luggage, business and first-class passengers in 2 seats.

The allowable size of hand luggage, as a rule, is: 55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm or 115 cm in the sum of 3 measurements.

Allowed weight depends on the airline, type of aircraft and route, the following are the allowable weights of one piece of carry-on baggage for some airlines:

Can I take food on a plane?

Perhaps not everyone knows about this, but you can take food on board an aircraft, and not only the one that was bought in Duty Free before boarding.

Knowledgeable tourists take with them not only chocolates and cookies, but also sandwiches and other homemade preparations. There are restrictions only on drinks, but flight attendants carry them all the same, unless you fly on low cost airlines where you have to pay for tea or juice.

It is advisable to take protein-rich foods with you: chicken, beef, cheese, nuts. Choose products that do not have a strong odor that will not crumble heavily and will not deteriorate in a few hours of flight and waiting at the airport.

A mixture of nuts and dried fruits, sandwiches or salad in a container is perfect for a snack.

Avoid strongly smelling and gas-forming foods (onions, garlic, fish, beans, broccoli), as well as fatty foods. You can spoil your stay on the plane not only to yourself, but also to numerous neighbors.

Remember that liquids, including gels, are prohibited for transportation. Except when they comply with the standards:

  • The volume of containers should not exceed 100 ml.
  • All containers should be stored in one resealable transparent plastic bag. The total capacity should not exceed 1 liter.
  • Each passenger has the right to carry only one such package.
  • Packaging with containers containing liquids must be presented separately at the security counter.

Which products relate to liquids and gels? The list is not very large, it includes: yogurt, sauces (for example, for salad), cottage cheese, peanut butter, jam, jam, jelly, soup. But not everything is so simple, no one will definitely answer the question of whether it is possible to take a pie with creamy filling or cake with you. This will depend on the decision of the security service.

All products must be neatly packaged in transparent bags or containers so that security personnel can see what is inside.

And one more little tip, before you spread the food brought with you on the table, cover it with a napkin. You do not know who was sitting here before you and how long they wiped it.

What kind of food should I take on a plane

Food on planes often leaves much to be desired. Heartburned pasta with chicken and insanely sweet chocolate waffle as a dessert are unlikely to arouse appetite, you can only eat this if you are very hungry. Meanwhile, to take with you on the road a bag of delicious and healthy food will not be the slightest difficulty, the main thing is to have a clear plan. And then you can not think about whether food is included in the cost of the flight, and not worry about its quality. The same supply can be saved during long flights, when a significant amount of time passes between two meals. So, what can one use with pleasure and comfort during a flight.

Fruit
   Fruits are perfect as a dessert, and as a way to quench your thirst. The main thing - do not bring along those that need to be cleaned. Soiled hands, splashes on clothes and excess load in the form of skins are not at all what you need. It is best to grab seedless grapes or any other berries, as well as apples. All this must first be washed, dried and best placed not in a bag, but in a plastic container with a lid.

Mix of nuts and dried fruits
   Of course, there are ready-made mixes in stores, but usually they will surely contain something that you don’t like at all and will end up at the bottom of the can, so it’s better to make a dry ration from what you love. For example: mix a glass of fried seeds without husks, a glass of dried apricots or prunes, half a glass of nuts (almonds or hazelnuts) and a couple of handfuls of dried cherries. All this, again, is more convenient to place in a plastic container, since plastic bags tend to open, tear and crumble at the most inopportune moment. And it’s inconvenient to put them on the table.

Small carrots
   This tasty and easy-to-transport root crop is often forgotten, and in vain. Firstly, it’s very good to crunch during take-off or landing, as It perfectly saves from ear plugging. Secondly, carrots not bad satisfy the desire to constantly chew something from boredom, without harm to the figure. And, finally, if you take some sauce with you, you can perfectly dip the root crop into it and get an almost restaurant snack. The main thing is to wash the carrots in advance. By the way, in the season carrots will be replaced by small cucumbers, the main thing is to find tasty and fresh ones.

Sauces
   Not necessary, but people used to consuming sauces, grab one or two sauces with you. These may be small boxes from McDonald's. But remember that the transport of liquid substances in an airplane is limited.

Crackers
   Crackers, bread sticks, or FinnCrisp taken from home are great for a bite to eat. The main thing is to choose a slightly crumbling option.

Muesli Bars
   If you don’t have time to collect food on the road at all, grab a variety of muesli and dried fruit bars with you. A great many types of such bars are sold, and you can buy them not only in the supermarket, but also in almost any pharmacy.

Inedible items
   Of course, you should definitely take wet and dry wipes with you, which will certainly find application. If there are shops in the sterile area, you can also take an empty camping water bottle with you and fill it with your own prepared mix, the ingredients for which can be purchased after security control.

Advice

And many more on the plane really want to drink, you can’t take a lot of liquids, you can take liquids with you in your luggage. But you can take juicy fruits and an empty bottle.
   And to fly with a bottle, which is already filled at the airport, after all the checks. You can ask for water from the Stuarts. Dehydration is terrible, so the more you drink, the better.
   Banana apples can be taken.

Tip - take dried fruits, nuts (preferably not peanuts so that your neighbor does not start Quincke's edema :() Take sandwiches that are individually packed, with chicken, ordinary, not smelly cheese. Any bars.

And don't forget to grab an empty trash bag!
